Shoreline Inn and Conference Center, an Ascend Collection hotel, Muskegon

This is a dimond in the rough, do not look at any review before early 2009, place has new owner it is clean and friendly. The lakehouse next door has great food and the outdoor pool area has these cool cabana lounges. Good for the family to close to michigan adventure.

Me and my three children stay every year. we love the view and the service. If you are going to Michigan Adventure the package deal with 4 tickets is an awesome deal. Can't wait to come back Aug 2011

I was very impressed with this hotel, it was beautiful and the view was awsome :-) They gave us a suite on accident and it was awsome. We plan on going back August 2011. I have read the bad reviews and i did not see anything bad so they must have cleaned it up and got better employees.

I left money in my room and after maid service left it was gone this was on Saturday Jan.9th 2010 and I believe I got head lice from the bed.So if you choose to stay there beware

This past weekend me and my family had a beautiful time in Muskegon,MI Staying at this hotel I will be back. The employees where the best and courteous. Also the hotel was very clean I want to say Thank You to everyone. New management 100 % keep up the good work!!

We were looking for a place to stay near Grand Haven.This was the only thing open. Read the reviews and was scared. No its its not close to anything, Yes the restaurant is closed. The staff and the room views make up for everything. and if your Hungry order a pizza and watch the sunset. Great place thanks

At first getting into my room was bad..room keys didn't work so many trips up and down the elevator and standing back in line just for them to call housekeeping to help me.room was clean but for an upscale expensive hotel you would think the air would work..it was 97 degrees when we entered the room and the air would not come on.we called the front desk and they sent a fan up with their housekeeper who was very sorry.so if you want a expensive room with mait.issues this is the place for you.

I have read some truly horrific reviews of the Shoreline Inn and Suites and would like to apologize to anyone that may have had an unpleasant stay. I know this was not intended by the staff for anyone to walk away with such horrible views. I am the new Operations Manager and I have worked with the staff and the hotel itself for the past 5 months re-training in Customer Service and Guest Interactions as well as keeping a steady eye on the on goings and cleanliness of the hotel itself. If you have had a stay that did not satisfy you, I would love to have you come back and experience a new atmosphere that you will find. In any business, sometimes things get "stale" and it is unfortunate that people have walked away disappointed, but I welcome you back! You will see a definite turn around, I promise! The Shoreline Inn and Suites truly is a unique hotel on Muskegon's waterfront and we wish you all safe travels and great memories along the road!

I had this place two weeks in advance, a suite on the 9th floor. When I drove up and came in it's breathtaking...up until you actually go to your room! The room was almost 100 degrees, the jacuzzi was filthy, the balcony was gross where if I opened the door I would have got cocooned by the spider webs from top to bottom of the door and the furniture on the balcony as well looked like it hasn't been cleaned the whole summer. In the closet in the bathroomo there was a face towel that was coated with something dark in color in which I didn't want to know what it was. The tv didn't have the remote control, and when we asked to be moved to another room, we were given the runaround, so it never happened. There is only one person running the inn and no one will bring you towels or anything, this is the first time i've been to a hotel where they tell you to come down and get the items that you need that should have been in your room in the first place! I drove over five hours to get engaged to my now fiance, and despite all of the flaws we had there, the best way to keep our minds off of it was to simply not be there for most of the stay. We even went to meijer's and bought tub cleaner and cleaned out the jacuzzi, but after we did this we only got more irritated, and didn't bother to use it. I stayed there on 10-11-08, I called them back the following monday and they were supposed to call me back thursday and I called them today(friday), the lady told me she had to wait for the owners to come back which now she's saying this monday or tuesday. I would like to get a full refund because i'm not interested in staying there ever again. Stay away completely from this place!

It 'appears' nice from a distance, in that the lobby is finely furnished, and the building 'looks' nice externally. However that is deceiving. I encountered many problems with the rooms. I had to move twice from room to room, due to problems, such as missing ceiling tiles and shower doors, faulty air conditioning, nonfunctional phone system, nonfunctional and rusty exercise equipment in the exercise room and to top it all off, the owner literally yelled at me when I reported the problems to her. She literally yelled at me that I could leave the hotel if I was not happy. I was shocked and appalled at this unprofessional behavior. I have never encountered such treatment at a hotel before.
