a very nice surprise!
By LP, 2/14/11
Liked: great, nice room, clean, quiet, everyday cleaning, accessible, awesome deal. Stayed many hours in the room, so it was really important that it was comfortable, and well, this one was absolutely very comfortable. Also the area around was easy to walk. My next trip to Bethesda, I am certainly booking it to this same Travelodge!

Customer Service Leaves Much to be Desired
By Artess, 9/13/10
Not enough parking, and don't even bother telling the desk clerk or asking where to park because he will just rudely dismiss you and tell you it's first come, first serve. My tv was broken and they wouldn't let me change rooms nor did they offer compensation. The stairways reek of urine. When I sent 2 complaints to head office I got no response. They're not even part of the Better Business Bureau. If you're handicapped they won't accommodate you. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

Cheap but not a good deal. Pass
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/24/07
If you are looking for a good deal keep looking. This is not the place. If this is the only place you can afford, save up a little longer and go anywhere else. Got to the hotel at 5 PM. with a reservation! Room was not ready. No pillow slips on the bed. The next morning NO HOT WATER! Three people no hot water. While waiting for the hot water to come on we realized the tub drain didn't work. Tub filled up, but never drained The rugs were so dirty that I didn't repack my grandsons dirty socks I just threw them away. GET AN EXTERMINATOR!

I will never stay here again!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/3/06
This hotel had cockroaches! After returning from a long day of sightseeing in D.C. and preparing for bed, I looked up and saw a cockroach crawling on the ceiling! I immediately took all my belongs to the car, and checked out earlier the next day. The paint was chipping from the walls, and the smell of mold was horrible. I recommend they call the Orkin man! The only pleasant thing I can say is, it was quiet and close to the Metro station.

Keep looking.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/7/05
Half the lights in the room burned out. Light switch turns the clock on and off. Cockroaches, mildew all over bathroom, awful smells. Woman at the desk was very rude. Scary neighborhood. Not even worth the low price, keep searching.

Mold Galore
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/21/05
There was so much mold growing in the bathroom and behind the curtains that our room would never pass an inspection by health officials. Anyone with asthma or allergies should steer clear. Definitely not worth $80 a night!

Simply a disgusting hotel with mould and mice
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/18/05
Stay away from this place, it is simply the most discusting place I have ever been. There was mould all over the place, especially in the bathroom, we could still smell the mould when we opened the suitcases on the next hotel. The paint was falling down from the celing. And the worst part was tha there was mice in our room, we bought some food from a shop and the next morning a mouse has been eating of both some bread and chips. We had prepaid for 3 nights, but after 2 nights we dicided that we couldn’t stand it anymore. When we checked out and told the receptionist about the mould and the mouse, he simply didn’t care at all. So once again, Stay away from this place.

So-so hotel yet cheaper to stay in DC area
By Dora, 6/11/05
I like this hotel, because I can afford to stay there. It's good for you to pick this hotel if you want pay less on hotel in DC. If you don't care much about cleanliness, then it's the right place for you to stay. The location is okay, and you can drive for 4 minutes to metro and park there. You can take metro to travel around in DC.

Clean, quiet hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/11/05
For the price, you can't beat it - basic efficient units. The hotel is less than 1 mile from the Metro -- streets safe enough to walk. Check-in and check-out were prompt and accurate. The room was reasonably sized, and being set-back on a side street, it was very quiet. No problems with the room; cleaning crew did a fine job for the three nights we were there. Within walking distance of both fast food and smaller dining outlets -- good diversity if you like ethnic foods. Why spend top dollar for a room when you can spend the savings on sightseeing and entertainment!
