Great Hotel in Salamanca

We were pleasantly surprised upon entering our room at the modern amenities. It was a beautiful hotel and the nicest hotel we staying at during our entire 13-day trip in Spain. The room was a luxury accommodation, with pleasant toiletries, shower, a trouser press, flat screen tv, comfortable bed with nice linens and decor. The view from our room was amazing! One of my fondest memories of Spain is sitting in the window at night with the lights shining on the cathedral and the convent. Just beautiful! The hotel was just a short walk to the Plaza Mayor, just right to be close, but not so close that the nighttime noise was a problem. It is a college town with lots of nighttime activities! If (and when) I return to Salamanca, I will definitely stay in the lovely hotel again!

Rustic yet modern and air-conditioned

Rustic on the outside, modern inside except for the old stone walls, it was a pleasure to stay at the Hotel Abba Fonseca! We took an elevator up to our room. It was spacious and air-conditioned, with all the modern amenities. The room overlooked the old town of Salamanca. We could see the narrow streets, balconies and red-tiled roofs. In the distance was the cathedral. Beautiful! Our bathroom was huge, sparkling clean, with lots of fluffy white towels, a blowdryer, etc. The front desk personnel was extremely helpful, giving advice on what to see in Salamanca and providing an excellent map. We were a few blocks from the main square - a good thing, because at night we had peace and quiet. Our rate? About $90 a night, but worth it. I would definitely return!
