Lake Las Vegas Rocks!!!!!!!
By ,
I recently stayed at the Viera at Montelago Village. These are condos that are owned by individual owners managed by Intrawest. While it has many of the hotel amenities, it also had a cozy feel of a condo with a full kitchen. We had water view. The staff was very helpful at the front desk. The village was buzzing and busy. Bernards restaurant was great! So, was Luna and the Mexican Restaurant. The ice teas were great at Saxby Coffee. The quaint village lends to relaxing and conversation amongst friends. The Ritz had a great fire pit in their garden which was fun to sit and relax. We took a ride to the strip, which was about 20 mins. We had dinner and saw a show, then headed back to Lake Las Vegas. Easy commute. I highly recommend Lake Las Vegas. The views are just amazing and the homes are staggered on the hillsides like you would see in Italy. Oh, don't forget you can rent a boat on the lake. Or Lake Mead and go see the hoover dam!!!

Beautiful Resort but overpriced.
By ,
My husband and I stayed at this hotel for a business convention and thought it was a beautiful, clean resort with great service but overpriced and boring. They have a little village with a casino, shops and restaurants but 1/2 of them were not open. It was July and hot but this place was dead and I felt like the people attending the convention were the only ones there. The casino like a previous reviewer said was dead, no excitement. The catered meals that were provided with the convention were excellent and we did not feel this resort was too far from the strip. We made several trips to the strip during our stay at the resort. Also I see no harm in splurging once in awhile but two regular sized pina coladas cost us $28 w/ tip and had I ordered room service for breakfast of 2 eggs, bacon, toast and juice I would have dished out $30 with their additional fees and charges which I think is ridiculous. We also weren't expecting a $20/day resort fee for use of their amenities when we received our bill. So nice resort but I'd never stay there again.

Thank you!
By ,
Came for seminar that required casual business dress, but luggage was lost. I should have packed extra carry on , but did not. From east coast so was lacking on sleep but to make long story short, one of the employees from the Ritz overheard me telling of my "woes" of lost luggage and took it upon herself to solve problem. I was not expecting this at all, thought I had to resolve problem on my own. But by the lunch break of first day of seminar my luggage was there. No stress on my part and problem was resolved. Nice greetings from every person we had contact with, did not feel like we were imposing but they actually enjoyed their job. Great experience, we tend to expect the worst but this was very refreshing! Recommend.

Never Again
By ,
Me and my wife stayed there recently for our 25th anniversary. Our experience with this hotel will be our last. We had problems throught our entire stay. The walls in the room are paper thin and you could hear kids screaming, dogs barking, and everything else. We ordered room service, it took about 45minutes to be delivered and when it did it was horrible. We had a tough time getting housekeeping to come to our room to clean. The hallway corridors are very dirty. You can see a thick coat of dust on the edges of the carpet. We had key problems are entire stay. The hotel was definately over priced. If you like dust, slow service, hot rooms, and being ignored. This is the hotel for you!!!

The Best!
By ,
We were traveling from Los Angeles to Deer Valley, Utah by car at the last minute. I knew I'd need a stop over so I went to a discount travel site and found this not knowing what to expect. Once we got there, I really didn't want to leave! We were met by our personal concierge and the service was beyond any expectations I had(and I have traveled around the world and stayed a some of the finest hotels and resorts). The staff was friend, polite, helpful and seemed to like their jobs. The location offered something for my two boys (8 & 12) as well as me, and, although there was a casino, unless it was your destination, you never had to know it was there. Great restaurants, spa, golf, pool, views, lake, I could go on, and the room was so nice, you could just park yourself there. If you have the opportunity, dont miss this place.

A Great Experience
By ,
This was by far the nicest hotel in the Las Vegas area. Lake Las Vegas is a bit out of the way, but it is worth it. It's quiet, luxurious, and a wonderful place to relax. It's still close enough to the strip to have fun. The staff at the Ritz were all extremely helpful and polite. They provided complimentary cold, bottled water and also brought bottled water to your room for coffee. The rate for the room was very good considering the luxury of the setting. I don't recommend dining in the restaurant in the hotel, which is prohibitively expensive. Opt for the coffee shop in the nearby casino. We had a delicious salmon dinner for a very reasonable price. The shopping area and the ambience were all great. I would definitely return.

A great experience
By ,
The Ritz-Carlton had just what we were looking for. This place is far away from the Las Vegas strip, with great service and a very relaxing atmosphere. The setting is great with the village and its shops. The lake provided added entertainment. We rented a car that allowed us to wander around the area which really improved our stay. Choose the Club level rooms; they include your meals and your drinks. If you don't like all the hustle and bustle of the strip but still like the thought of going to Las Vegas this is the place.

The beauty, surroundings, service and comforting relaxation offered here is some of the best that I have ever experienced. Not once but twice. Will definitely return again and again.

Hooray for Henderson!
By ,
Yes,many people think that Lake Las Vegas is in Las Vegas. However, it is in the City of Henderson. Away from the hectic streets of the Las Vegas strip. It is an eclectic distraction from everything that Vegas is. Granted you have to pass old Henderson to get to the facility, but it is well worth the trip. It's an oasis of beauty in a desert climate. Great shops, restaurants, and w-a-t-e-r. Hotels are extravagant. It's a nice get-a-way from the heart of the Vegas Strip. Give yourself a treat and explore the other big city next to Las Vegas, Henderson, and of course Lake Las Vegas as well.

Disappointing
By ,
If you're looking for a Vegas experience, this isn't it. 15 miles east of the strip, the 7 miles ride along Leake Meade Boulevard gives no hint of the luxurious resort awaiting you...$14 tire shops, cheap live-in motels, etc. If they want to attract people with bucks, they need to do something to cleanup up the neighborhood! The room was lovely but, for me, the resort lacked personality. Didn't come close to other Ritz Carlton's. A formula experience. Fake lake, fake Italian Village, nondescrit Tuscany style buildings. This was a business meeting so food was banquet style and just average. Casino is small. $5 minimum tables day time, weekdays upped to $10 at night. Casino was empty at night even...no excitement. Attended a similar function at the Four Seasons on the Strip a few years ago... which surpasssed this Ritz function.
