Holiday Inn Expste Santa Clara, Santa Clara

The hotel is on a small lot but it is a great place to stay for Santa Clara University parents because the rooms are quite luxurious, the staff is friendly, the price is reasonable for the area and you get a nice continental breakfast included as well as being close to campus.

I felt the hotel is overpriced, especially since there isnt a restaurant or deli within the facility (I assume the continential breakfast offsets the price). I love the location because there are several places to grab a bite to eat in the general area. Staff was very friendly and willing to help. I thought the rooms were small but loved the fact they a have VCR/DVD comb in them. Wireless access is free but I found it slow (what would one expect since it's free). Overall, not bad for an overnighter but long term wouldnt be fun.

The hotel room was very nice and clean. They have an elevator to the 2nd floor rooms but our room was located on a level higher. We had to climb up approx. 12 fairly steep stairs lugging our heavy suitcases. I requested for another room due to my injured foot, but they were completely sold out. They weren't able to accommodate me! There was also a bad odor in the hallway...smelled like an extremely bad body odor. Our room was very nice, clean, and comfortable. We had a small refrigerator & microwave which was very convenient. The 2 queen sized beds were very soft and I especially loved their pillows. The only thing I didn't like about our room was that our window looked right into the window to the room next to us; very bad design. Continental breakfast was good. There were many items to choose from and it was free! The location was convenient. Close to restaurants and small shopping centers. Overall, I think it was overpriced. I prepaid $106 per night however, other locations were priced higher or sold out.
