this is not a review ...but my experience

I am sorry to use this medium to give comments on my recent stay at your hotel. I was in Room 240 from Saturday Oct 30 2004 to Monday Nov 1 2004. Overall I must commend you on a wonderful property, but there were 2 setbacks which were extremely annoying, hence I might not want to recommend anyone to stay there.
Firstly. Just after midnight on my first night, an alarm went off. Guests on the second floor were asked to evacuate their room. I did so along with some of my neighbouring guests. I did so with some discomfort, after spending 3 hard days in Nicaragua. In your hotel lobby, a technician had to tell us that a smoke dectector went off. What happened to the "good staff" at the front desk? Were they sleeping, or does the front desk closes at midnight? We were left alone. We had to ask whats going on. Your technical staff did a very poor job in assuring us of our safety. This assurance should have come from someone in management.
On the second night (Sunday) I returned from an event in Coral Gables around 1 am. I was greeted by a cleaner, who asked me what am I doing there. I was heading for the elevator at the time. Once again, no one was at the front desk to see that guests are afforded the usual courtesy. I was shocked....SHOCKED, by having to be greeted by someone in the cleaning dept, who had to asked about me being there. Where was your front desk staff? Do you have a front desk staff after midnight? With my 2 nights experience...I dont think so.
Sorry, I dont think I will be in you hotel again
