can't wait to go back !
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/15/07
We stayed in the makadi Oasis hotel in September 2007. The swimming pool is huge ! Great chairs en towel service ! There is even a "pool express" which brings yours drinks to you at the swimming pool ! The animation team was great ! Service in the restaurant was super ! Every single person who was working at the hotel was friendly and polite ! We were treated like "kings", coming from Belgium ! We can't wait to go back there !!

Went twice in 2005 for one week each time, going August 2006 for two weeks. Its that good Down side full of germans not many British at all. Plus side staff look after you very very well. One tip, tip at the beging of your holiday & you will get really looked after. Food very good plenty of choice and p[lenty of it.

Wonderful !!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/23/06
We went February the hotel, food and room we could not fault. The staff are excellent and can not do enough to please. A few nights were lacking in entertainment. A lot of Germans who I must say the hotel mainly cater for. Beach beautiful and once they buildthe golf course we will be back. Although we did find one at Soma Bay not too far away. All the hotels in the Bay were excellent and the shops were good. Good for sport and the pool was so warm . No fighting for beds which has to be a first for us. Very well planned and beautiful gardens.

Beautiful
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/28/05
Visited the Makadi Oasis in mid Jan 05 for 2 weeks, this was the best holiday i have ever had. The weather was great, so hot, the hotel pool is amazing, couldn't believe how big it is, its great there is an area for kids so you can tan in peace. Entertainment in mainly in German, there was lots of Germans and Russians when we were there but the staff all speak english. Its best to take Euro's to Egypt, they like to trade in Euro's rather than the eyptian pound. The men tend to "hassle" women, always asking are u married, do you have a boyfriend, it gets annoying after a while. Beware of the hotel doctor, he is a rip off, there is a chemist in the area, they were very useful. I would definatly return to the Makadi Oasis, it really is beautiful!!!

Resort good, airport bad!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/28/05
We enjoyed our stay here. Food was good... maybe a bit repetitive after a week. The best food was on egyptian night! Feb was quite cool on the beach as the wind on the red sea was significant. (I don't windsurf but kinda wished I did after watching) The wind shields on the beach were a blessing, but snorkelling, while beautiful was blue lipped chilly in the wind. Staff was very good, always wanting to help. Makadi is isolated, and there is alot of construction going on. As of the beginning of feb there was one bank machine serving at least 5 resorts, and half the time it was not working. The exchange counter was always a feasible alternative, but bring traveller cheques or cash...credit cards don't seem popular and if you depend on that machine you may get frustrated. Beware shopping prices, they are highly inflated due to the isolation of the location and the fact that most people don't knowing better. Better deals are to be had in Hurghada. Oh and the airport in Hurghada...one of the more frightening experiences ever. Chaos reigned, bribes to guys who may or may not work there shuffled people up the line creating impossible bottlenecks... even the xray guy was soliciting cash. A pushing riot to get thru the final metal detector resulted in people just pouring through. A serious "not secure feeling" getting on the plane home.

Makadi Oasis Dec 2004
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/14/04
Fantastic hotel, lovely pool area, rooms and public areas. Good food and service, they cannot do enough for you. I am not against other countries but the hotel is mainly dominated by German guests and so the annimation programme revolves around them. Also the hotel is way out of any main towns, which can also be a blessing. The coral reefs were amazing. The Bedoin trip was interseting but very dubious if it is actually authentic.
