Website is deceiving
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/9/09
Location was great...close to restaurants and shops, Our room was located on the ground floor, next to the housekeeping office in the middle of a parking lot. Very noisy in the morning. You could see specs of the red rocks from the room. Parking was bad.

Don't buy the marketing hype
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/22/09
I stayed here in late 80s. Room decor was beautiful and classy French Country. The rooms now are sterile, retro 50s. I don't know when I've seen uglier furniture. An insult to the Red Rock splendor outside my door. Lousy Wi-fi. Bad food @ restaurant. A tent in Dry Creek far better than this $149 abomination.

Outstanding Views
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/24/07
In my opinion this place is worth it just for the view. You can sit on your back porch late in the afternoon and watch the sun set across the breathtaking red rocks. Amazing. Some of the negative points are parking. The lot is very small. If you go out during the day you will have a tough time finding a spot when you return. The rooms are not the most updated bit I found mine to be clean and had no problem sleeping. The pool area is small, the property is small, but I liked it. In the summer it could be a little crowded. Overall it's a great value. You can walk to a lot of things and the views are unbeatable.

Very good value for the money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/30/07
This motel is in the middle of uptown Sedona. The location allows you to walk to any number of good restaurants and shops within minutes. The views from the balcony are phenomenal and there are also stairs that lead down to a walk along Oak Canyon Creek that is open during the day. The furniture and the rooms definitely need updating, especially the rugs, which as other reviewers have mentioned, are stained. BUT the mattresses are firm and the bedding, bathrooms, linens, etc. are definitely clean. The rooms also have small refrigerators and microwaves, which is great for longer stays. The staff was very helpful with dining recommendations, and gave us coupons to the adjacent restaurant ~ The Orchards Bar and Grill (where the food was great and reasonably priced and the service was prompt and courteous), as well as other restaurants in town. Whoever owns this motel could charge a lot more given the extremely convenient central location and the stupendous balcony views alone, which is why I say that overall this is a very good value for the money. I would definitely stay here again.

Keep shopping around ...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/10/07
The hotel was in a good central location and provided a good view of the red rocks, however; service was poor and the staff would only recommend restaurants and spas that they were affiliated with. Office hours were also minimal making it very difficult for those checking in later than 6:30pm. Lack of parking was bothersome and annoying (leaving you to park on the streets when the lot fills up). Pictures on the Web site are deceiving and potray a larger and cleaner room than what we experienced. The carpet was filthy (to say the least) and needs to be replaced. There were black stains and decades worth of wear and tear. Showers are cramped and require squating in order to stand under shower head. Don't bother opting for the fire place either - it did not impress. Overall, we think it is not worth saving a few dollars for the many inconveniences. For the money, we feel we should have received more of the basic ammenities that traditionally come along with a hotel stay in this price range (even in expensive Sedona).

Haven't Slept This Bad in Years!
By tommy750, 8/17/07
Wasn't expecting to find this inn/motel right on busy Hwy 89 in the heart of kitschy Sedona. The A/C was poor and the beds were horrible. The only night none of us could sleep well on our entire trip through Utah/Arizona. Views from the balcony were good. Interiors could use an update. Would definitely skip this property.

Be warned
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/6/06
It's basically a motel. The staff is nice. The view is great but it's Sedona, there are spectacular views everywhere you turn. The bed was so old and full of poking springs I never got a good night's sleep. They accidentally gave us a 6 AM wake up call the first morning. The toilet broke while we were there. (They did fix it quickly) They initally had us in a king bed room when I had called the day before to double check my reservation for 2 queens. The pool was filthy. (The place really needs an upgrade) Worst of all, it's in the middle of the hokey part of Uptown. T-Shirt shops, key chain and magnet stores and cheap eats abound. If your not going to be at the motel very much this is an ok place, but it wasn't what I was expecting based on the 3 star rating.

1st time in Sedona
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/3/06
Do yourself a favor and try this place out. Nothing fancy, but we had the best time staying here over any other place. The backdrop of "red rock mountains" was totally visible from the room. Plus you are in walking distance to many cafes. I suggest if you want excellent food is go to a place on the corner, although I cannot remember the name its called "Bistro" something...the food was outstanding as well as the atmosphere...sit on the terrace if possible!

Wonderful
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/18/06
Perfect location! Right in the middle of everything, yet tucked away so it was quiet. The views from the rooms are breathtaking! Very helpful and friendly staff. They gave us great recommendations for sight-seeing and dining. I would definitely stay there again!

Perfect choice....
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/26/05
for what we needed. Perfect location, can walk to everything in town. Beautiful view of mountains, friendly staff. VERY GOOD continental breakfast in Orchards Grill. We ate there other times throughout the days we were in Sedona and the food is excellent. Parking is tight, we were there in September so I would imagine that if it was tight then, summer might be a problem BUT you can always park at Orchard's sister, L'Auberge and ride the cable car up to the Orchards. Also parking can usually be found on the main street in town and you can walk back to your room if you have to. Orchards Inn is a perfect location and worth the price which is lower than many other hotels in town. Would definitely stay there again.
