Hill House Bed & Breakfast, Seattle

This place rocks me and my partner loved it! the only thing that was strange was... they informed me that i must pee sitting down. they said the owner gets really mad if he catches you standing while you urinate. So i went wee in the shower.

I have stayed in Herman and Alea's Bed and Breakfast on four occassions. I love everything about it. The breakfast is beyond compare, completely delicious, served with unparalled warmth, presentation and flare. The rooms are emaculate, beautifully furnished, exceptionally clean, with adorable and special touches, such as handmade fragrant soaps. Every detail, from ornate bathtubs to beautiful woodwork to the old world charm bedding is a treat for the eyes and the mind. The rooms and beds are very comfortable. Herman and Alea's hospitality is out of this world. You will remember your stay(s) forever. The locations are extremely central to downtown Seattle, interesting neighborhoods, conveniences, bus routes, and many attractions. Just stepping outside into the neighborhood itself offers a special slice of Seattle, from coffeehouses to shopping. And did I mention you will LOOOOOOOOOOVE Herman's breakfast?

Stayed at the Hill House and the sister inn, Amaranth Inn. At both inns, I was informed that I was not allowed to read the paper at the breakfast table even though I was the only person at the table. This is apparently the the owner's rule and strictly enforced by the staff for fear of upsetting him. Made for an unpleasant meal staring at the wall and feeling scolded. On top of the rigid rules, the food was not great, the locations marginal, and the overall atmosphere was worn.
