My sweetheart surprised me with a stay at this lovely B&B for our anniversary and we absolutely loved our stay! The house itself is gorgeous, we were upgraded for free, the room was beautiful with a luxurious jetted tub, and breakfast was delicious. I loved how cozy the room was; there was a beautiful fireplace, a cozy king-size bed with down pillows and a down comforter over very soft sheets, and the bathroom was absolutely gorgeous! There are several little perks that we enjoyed as well; such as, complimentary snacks & drinks, a little box of chocolates and a card on our bed when we arrived, bathrobes, Aveda bathroom products, DVDs to borrow and the service was fantastic. We loved our stay so much and will definitely be back!
my husband and I had never stayed at a bed and breakfast before, and we had the best time. We are going back again this Feb. and are hoping to make it every year thereafter. The people were very friendly and we felt as if we had the whole house to ourselves. Close to downtown and many other attractions. We were treated wonderfully.
The charm and quality of our stay has us excited to go back. It is located within walking distance of major shopping and city happenings, while maintaining peace and quite. We had a large group of family and friends come to stay here for an important event... everyone was excited about it. Each room has something to offer, be it fire places, 4 posted beds, large luxurious bathrooms... it's all here.
The staff are helpful and friendly. The inn has a very homey and inviting feel. Breakfast, the two mornings we spent here, had 20 people (our party) all happy and full.
If you are looking for charm, romance, and comfort... this is an excellent choice. We would and will (hopefully!) come here again and recommend it to other family and friends.
The historic nature of the property and the architectural detail of the period add to the wonderful ambience. The location could hardly be better, only a couple of blocks from Temple Square and the heart of downtown Salt Lake City. For jogging or walking enthusiasts, City Creek Canyon and Memorial Park are nearby. The hosts are friendly and helpful.
At first, when the cab dropped me off at the corner, it was kind of difficult finding the lobby. It felt like the inn was in the middle of nowhere, though downtown is just a little bit away. I walked up a large flight of stairs (not a handicap friendly place) only to be encountered by locked doors with signs instructing me to "go to the front" door," with no indication of where the front door was. However, when I finally found the lobby, the one woman who was working there was very personable.
This place is like a little deserted mansion, with a few rooms. I stayed in the Salt Air room. I liked the four-poster king bed, the windows all around the room with great views of the city, and the cozy gas fireplace that could be lit with a switch. The bathroom was a big plus -- a huge room with its own heater and a beautiful, big, sparkling clean tub. I stayed here on business, but it would be a great place to stay for a couple on a cold winter night.
The next morning, the same woman who had checked me in before cooked breakfast for us. The breakfast was boring -- toast, eggs, greasy potatoes, but the menu changes daily. You might get lucky and get banana pecan waffles, which was listed as an example breakfast. Overall, a nice and unique place. Be aware that some rooms smell a little musty.
