Executive Inn, Thomson

Savanna was booked up so we found this place online, we were pleasantly surprised by the size and cleanliness of the rooms, also great is the restaurant/sports bar next door, would definitely stay again!

I would have to say that the front deskman, does care more about the cutomers then what he is making, i had got my car broken down about 3 blocks away from getting off of work and stop buy to use there phone, and being 1 in the morning i figured no one was awake, but the guy was sleeping but helped me get my car charged up and also made sure that i got home safe by calling me in 1 hour. While i was there he let me use one of the restroom in the room and they looked really nice and clean, I would have to stay that i did come back with the wife and got a theme rooms for a great rate to thank him for helping me out and will come back again

We were in the area visitng relatives. Normally we stay in right in Savanna but all the hotels/motels were full. So I booked a room at The Executive for a night. My husband is an OTR driver and we were meeting him as well. I was concerned over truck parking. But when I checked in the man at the desk had the parking situation figured out. He was friendly, helpful, and went out of his way to accomodate us. The rooms were your typical motel rooms, nothing fancy but clean. As a travel agent I pay attention to incidentals, we have no complaints. If you're looking for luxury, find it elsewhere. But if you're looking for relaxation, sit out by your door type of atmosphere...check this place out!!

I came in to find several dead flies by the sink. The fan made loud noises on the faster speed. I told the guy about it, and he assured me that not even all the rooms have fans, only four (he said). I said 'alright, I don't have time for this anyway" and forgot about it. During the week, my company was thinking about sending someone else out to the Executive Inn, which did not happen. He asked for my bosses' number, called him, and hassled him (I was embarassed). The following week, he called me to inquire about the second person again. I told him that no one else was coming, so he kept repeating things... he sounded dissappointed and upset... we were on the phone for five minutes or so. It was ridiculous. The room itself is ok, nothing special. But it's got a fridge, coffee maker, and microwave, none of which I really used. So anyway, I'd rate this place a 3 I suppose. The dude needs a new tactic for attracting customers...

The reason for my stay at this motel was to work at the Quad Cities nuke plant. I paid for 1 week. I asked the manager what would happen if I was laid off and had to check out after a couple of days. He said "then you lose." That was fine, I went to work and some co workers told me about other local motels with much better rates. As a courtesy to this manager, so he could plan for his rentals, I told him (on day 3 of my 7 day rental) that I would be moving when my week was up. The man literally came unglued and falsely accused me of promising to stay 2-3 weeks, and how much money he was losing because of my decision. He kept me on the phone quite a while literally chewing me out. He then turned off my long distance phone calls. Be careful reading these reviews, some of them sound like ads for this place. It has a nice facade but the walls are very thin and you can hear your neighbors quite well (and they you).

I love this place because the new owners were very nice and the price was just right, i was planning on stayig for 2 days and end up staying for 5, and the rooms look brand new, i was impressed, i tell everyone i know to stay there because i enjoyed everything about it.

My husband and I stayed here while needing to go to Clinton for a funeral. We were very pleased. The location was good... nice to get out of Clinton and the room was wonderful! Newly remodeled and clean! We checked in late..about midnight...and were stilled treated great and enjoyed our stay. We plan to stay here again soon! Only complaint.... the bed was hard!

The motel overlooks the new State of Illinois prison which never opened. Good for the boaters and tourist. Nice place to stay for a getaway.
