Holiday Inn Express Sanford, Sanford

On our recent stay we woke up and found a huge cockroach crawling across the TV stand/dresser. Then yet another on the bathroom floor. Luckily we only stayed one night.

The front desk girl was very rude and it seemed like she just wanted to be somewhere other then there. We were given keys that didn't open our door and she was a bit irritated as though it was our fault. The room had a strange smell to it. We found a plate of half eaten food in the microwave . No HBO in the room so we calmed down to the desk and was told someone would be up to check it but, nobody came to check it out. The bathroom was quite dirty and the tub had hair in it. We later came down to the lobby to get some coffee and there was a man working at the desk however he was very busy smoking his cigarette and making the lobby area stink of smoke. We waited a few minutes then he came inside. We asked about the person who was going to check the HBO problem and he was very rude . He told us he was the only one there so he couldn't help. We told him about the plate if food in the microwave and he just laughed and said perhaps housekeeping missed it . We inquired about a rollaway bed and he said well as I told you I'm the only one here and I'll see what I can do. We waited about an hour and called down to the front desk but , no answer. We went down and he was outside smoking again . The lobby really smelled bad and I have asthma so my husband stayed there and waited for him . He told him there were no rollaway beds left. We choose this hotel because we stayed here in 2009 and everything was great . The next morning we went to get breakfast and everything was empty. We asked when the food would be out and the same man was outside smoking again. He said the breakfast girl was at the airport. We waited and she came back but first had to smoke a cigarette too. This is ridiculous. We asked how long before any hot food would be ready and she said well let me see what I can do. After waiting another 30 minutes still no food. She was in and out of the kitchen but no food. Then she left in a van to the airport. We will never stay here again

Great stay as usual ... Staff was great, breakfast was fantastic. This is the best hotel in Sanford. Close to the airport with shuttle service..

We stayed here for 2 nights. Rooms were newly renovated and the hotel was clean. First night we were kept awake until midnight by a dog left in a room by its owners which wasn't the hotels fault, they were accomodating people for race week and obviously the guests were the ignorant ones to leave their dog unattended. The second night we asked for another room and they gladly moved us even though the hotel was fully booked. Staff was very friendly and the breakfast was better than I expected. We will stay here again if we need a hotel in the area.

I cancelled the reservation within the appropriate amount of time and received a cancellation confirmation number and they charged my credit card for the whole stay! The general manager won't return my calls and Intercontinental Hotels doesn't appear to be much help. They said there is no cancellation in the system even though there is a cancellation confirmation number - so since they can't do their jobs properly, I get charged! I will never stay at a Holiday Inn Express because there is no recourse if they do something wrong.

have stayed at this hotel for many years, recently renovated completely..looks amazing, the staff is so friendly and willing to answer any of my needs, rooms are cozy and comfortable, the free wireless is a major plus for me to finish my work in comfort. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Everything was great! The staff went out of thier way for us and you don't find that very often. Rooms were beautiful.. New furniture, clean and fresh. Breakfast was great too. They had hot/cold food. We also loved the free shuttle to and from the Sanford Airport. We will stay again when we come back in December.

Beautiful hotel. The staff made us feel so at home. The room was very clean and fresh. The breakfast was a wonderful surprise Hot food.. bacon, eggs, etc We also used the free shuttle service to the Sanford Airport. Great value and a great change of pace. Service with a smile.

We got there early, and asked about early checkin, woman at the desk, didn't even hesitate, just checked us right in. Friendliest people working there, everyone you passed, said hello, or asked if you needed anything. We choose it as a half way location between Orlando and Daytona, as we were there for the race, and going to the Orlando parks, the following days. It was very convenient to get to Daytona, and much more resonably priced, then the hotels in Daytona during raceweek. We will definitly stay there for all our future race week stays. I do agree with some others, would be a little nicer to have the pool in the back, but otherwise great place. Highly recommend a stay in Sanford at the Holiday Inn express

It was a short stay but a nice one, very quiet, easy to get to. Staff was very friendly and helpful, would stay again.
