Nickel and Dime You!!!
By susans, 2/1/12
It was an additional $10 to activate the safe in our room. We selected this resort because they accept pets but were not told about the $75 per week additional charge and the $250 damage deposit until we were checking into the resort. In addition, we had to pay either a daily $10 or weekly $50 for wifi. We were in Flamingo 1 and our TV's were absolutely ancient and small. They had the converters on them that take them from analog to digital.

Couldn't have asked for a better time!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/26/11
I along with my 3 buddies were booked a room at the Weston location through a time share marketing company for a discounted price based on the promise of going to the time share tour. By reading these reviews I came to realize that just the "b" side would not be a good fit for myself and 3 buddies (thank goodness for these hotel reviews!) When I got to the welcome center all the staff were very nice and welcoming. When I got my paperwork, I realized that I had received the "B" side of the condo. I asked if there was anyway to switch to the "A" side and not only was I given the A side but was also given the B side by the manager. From here on out everything I experienced at the resort was awesome. The rooms were very nice. The Flamingo I and II buildings are reserved for the guests that are touring the buildings and were not as updated as the ones owned by the time share holders which is understandable if you understand the concept. We still had a (old school) big screen tv, jacuzzi tub and a double headed shower (in "A" side only). As I said earlier my discounted room was based on going to the time share tour (sales pitch). This tour, although a little inconvenient if you take advantage of the later (4 a.m. or later) closing times, was not as bad as the reviews I have read on this site pryer to the vacation. My tour guide was an older gentleman that was very nice and knowledgeable about the properties owned by Vacation Village and other properties owned by RCI as he was a proud owner of 3 himself. He said he was paid a salary so whether or not I bought a timeshare didnt affect his payday and it showed even when I declined to buy (came down to an awesome deal though!). One negative thing I will say is if you book a one bedroom condo, make sure you request that they give you the "A" side even if you have to pay more if you are traveling with more than your spouse and 2 children max (young). The "B" side alone will leave you disappointed if you are looking for a lot of room. There is only a window in the "B" side and its at least 4 ft. high so if you have small children they will not be able to see out by themselves. The last thing I will say is that if you are flying in without a vehicle, rent one! Ft. Lauderdale beach is a little less than 30 mins and a little more than 30 mins away without traffic and the resort does not supply a shuttle. A cab ride to the Hollywood casinos is $45 with tip one way and Ft. Lauderdale is more than that. My over all experience was awesome. I will recommend this resort to my friends and will definitely come here again myself, probably annually! * People that are posting these ridiculously negative reviews are either expecting way too much for the money spent or had a fluke experience that does not happen very often according to the ratio of people this resort accommodates. I consider myself to be very picky and this place left little room for "picking."

What a disappointment
By Linda K., 12/14/08
They placed us in the oldest building on the place, the floors turned our feet black. The pool was blocked by the buildings so the sun was only there 1/2 a day. Hallways were arctic temperatures.

Awesome Place
By DionneB, 8/27/08
I went with a group of my friends they enjoyed every moment. We stayed in the Ibis building over looking the pool and that was a beautiful view. The room very clean and spacious. I enjoy going to the resturant using the suttle vans provided.

Will never go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/25/08
I will never go back. We were in an A unit which was very small, and dark. The furniture had cigarette burns in it and was very uncomfortable. There were children in the B unit which Squealed and slamed doors day and night. We ask to be transfered to another unit but was refused, and was told that it was beyond their control. This was a very unpleasant vacation for us.

Wonderful time at Weston Vacation Village
By Sandra, 2/22/08
We thoroughly enjoyed our two week stay. We were in the Flamingo 2 builing, in a clean, spacious one-bedroomed unit with a lovely view. It was a pleasant walk down to the main building where many activities were offered. Check-in was fast and professional. Although I'm afraid of the water, I ventured into the Heron pool several times to participate in the Aquatic Stretch classes. The instructor was terrific as were the other participants. Made new friends there! We found Weston to be an ideal spot to escape the harsh winters we get up here in the Northeast.

We can't wait to go back
By Stanely, 2/13/08
Although we did not get around to using the amenities, the room was outstanding and the service...very nice. We went when there must have been the low season, because we only paid about $60 dollars per night!! Best value ever!

Rude welcoming
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/2/08
The resort was nice enough, but we woke up itcy every morning...possibly bed bugs. The staff at the resort were very nice, but our introduction to the resort at the Fort Lauderdale Welcome Center was horrible. The man that "welcomed" us was very rude. He insisted we had to attend the sales pitch meeting even though we had just bought a condo from the same company the previous month. He said "I don't want to argue, It's Christmas, you have to attend, no exceptions". When we got to Vacation Village at Weston the front desk people were very friendly. I called the management at sales and asked if we could skip the meeting because we were already owners, she said "Do you have proof?" and I said "not with me", she said "then you have to attend if you want to stay here more than one night". I asked if she could check on the internet to confirm that we were owners and she said "no, we don't have access to that". So we went to the meeting only to find out that once we arrived they said "We checked and you are an owner so you don't have to attend". The run-around we were given was very upsetting, and I would never go there again even though the property was very nice.
