14 reviews for Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort Hotel & Suites, Fort Lauderdale
NEVER AGIN
By Diana, 03/11/09
Upon check in they started changing the prices and we booked on orbitz. They couldn’t provide me with documentation that their extra charges were set in stone. Smelled like pee Plunger in bathroom was covered with plastic bag There is a 20 dollar charge for 3rd adult Plus there is an extra fee for early check in It looked like someone could easily break into your room At 3am we were forced to take the stairs only 1 elevator Terrible service Only put one bath cloth and 2 towels in bedroom for 3 people??!! Dirty Continental breakfast Negative I wouldn’t eat there! I wouldn’t stay there if it was the last place on earth..should have checked yahoo reviews first Totally unacceptable I was “upgraded” and thank God because I cant imagine what the other rooms looked like! Ok im done!

Disgusting, filthy, loud ,and scary
By Robin, 05/12/08
Unbelievable - filthy. They doubled the price i signed for and charged my CC. the manager "Norman" will not return phone calls. would not change our room. Our feet got instantly dirty after showers. I got out of the shower and my feet stirred up the dirt on the floor. Smelly filthy rooms in the suite. disgusting Don't go there -- ever. it's funny the outside looks nice, but not inside.

A Beach resort...NO! A last resort
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/12/07
We actually reserved a suite for us and another couple becuase we had seen the pictures on the website. I have NO idea where these pictures came from but it was not this hotel. Our room was old and looked like the furniture was from 1950. Our kitchen was not usable. It was too small and the stove was so dirty that they had covered the burner trays with foil. Our fridge leaked all over our room and when I went to the front desk the girl gave me a stack of towels to soak it up with. The restaurant that is on site is horrible. The person who made our reservations also put a $300 on our credit card that was not removed until 3 days after we paid in cash and left. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Customer Service Nightmare
By medicclassvi, 11/16/06
I booked this place via Orbitz as a lay over for an early morning flight. I get to the hotel (motel) at around 930p tired and ready for bed. The kid at the desk tells me that they're sold-out and only have only room left that I'll have to wait for him to clean even though my reservation was pre-paid weeks ago. I get to the room to find that the floor hadn't been swept, the linens if in fact they were new linens were just thrown onto the bed, the toilet had some sort of body hair on the seat, shower appeared to have been used to clean running shoes, and the trash not emptied. I went to the Manager Michael Anderson, asked him to either clean the room, give me another room, or refund my money, all of which he refused. He even refused to look at the room. Rather than settle for this treatment, I spent the night at the airport.....

Nice and cozy
By Rolf, 10/23/06
The location near shopping and beach make the stay very easy. It´s small and therefore not crowded, many tenants are coming back year after year.

Never again
By DmitryG, 07/27/06
It was for a first time in my life when I left hotel in an hour after arrival. Managment is frendly. Room is clean enough. But. Location is horrible! Ocean across the street... O, yes. Really. No more streets in between hotel and ocean. But big apartment complexes, garage complexes, etc. And this is not a tourist area - no restaurants, no shops, no normal beach services. Nothing. Finally - you can stay this hotel if you want to eat just pizza every day and stay in room 24 hours a day - or spend minimum $25 for taxi round trip to go to the restaurant, any shop or entertainment... and wait for this taxi around an hour.

Pick another hotel!
By Katt319, 07/19/06
The hotel was one block from the beach. The room was dirty and old. The mattresses were covered in plastic and the tub didn't drain. It was fairly inexpensive, but not worth it. I would pay more and stay somewhere else next time.

Don't go there!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/06/06
Dirty, vomit - littered stairs, clueless staff when it comes to their reservation system, not at all what we had expected! By the way, we had to pay $169.02 per night and were charged for a night we were not there. We still haven't been reimbursed and that was 4 months ago.

a fair motel
By Daniel, 06/03/06
The room was nice and clean. No noise at night and no trouble. Nice staff. Not far from the beach and I-95. The continental breakfast could be better though.

Basic, but CLEAN
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/01/06
Reviews for this hotel are quite varied by website. Had looked at other reviews and found them positive, then came to Yahoo and found very negative ... but we had already booked by that time, so kept fingers crossed! Not to worry. The place was very clean, and rooms, while basic, were not a problem. Tile floors appeal to us at the beach because you can immediately see if there is mold. NO PROBLEM. NO BUGS. Beds were comfy. Clerks were pleasant. Yes, you have to cross A1A 4 lanes of traffic, but, for crying out loud, use a crosswalk, and you are fine! It's a good walk to the local pier with restaurants, shops, and bars, but not a marathon to get there. All in all, a nice surprise and good price. We have stayed all over the world, at 5 star palaces and no-star dumps, so we have a lot to compare this to.
