Holiday Inn Express Concord, Concord

We stayed here for one night while on a weekend get-a-way. The staff at the front desk was courteous, and check-in was smooth and fast. However, the room was quite a disappointment. The room was very worn and in disrepair. There was a large crack in the window, and the curtains had seen better days. The carpet was tacky and worn. Apparently instead of actually cleaning the carpet or removing stains, maintenance cut out the strips and laid down new carpet – which, although the same pattern and color, did not align correctly. Quite tacky. The beds were comfortable, however, the underside of the bedspread had stains as did the pillow cases. They were clean, but needed to be replaced. The bathroom was worse! The tile floor had dark stains everywhere, and made the bathroom feel and look like a shoddy public restroom. The mirror had yet another stain where some previous guest had spit on the mirror. The tub/shower combo needed resurfacing as the bottom was peeling. Despite the dirty room, the hotel did have some nice features. The outdoor pool and fitness area were very nice and clean. The continental breakfast was an added plus with many different choices – not your typical continental breakfast! Also, the hotel is located extremely close to a huge mall, shops, and several fantastic restaurants!
