It Was Just OK - Not As Nice As Other Hampton Inns
I've stayed in quite a few Hampton Inns, since I travel a lot. This one just did not have quite the level of service that I usually experience with their chain. The breakfast food appeared to be "day old". On one cold day the maid left the window to my room open. Another night the lights went out after dark, just when I was leaving for supper. When I went to the stairs, the stairs said "wet paint, do not enter". I made my way in the dark to the stairs at the other end of the hall and was spooked by another guest. There should have been hotel employees on each floor helping people out. Instead several employees were all huddled around the phone at the front desk, though no one could call because the electricity to it wasn't working. When the lights finally came back on, my TV was broken. The next day when I asked the front desk if the TV was fixed, the maintenance guy snapped at me. I am returning to Mobile for another week and have decided to forfeit the opportunity to earn Hilton Honors points and stay elsewhere. UPDATE: I sent a copy of this complaint to the Hampton Hotel, and they did address my concerns promptly.
