Microtel Inn Pittsburgh Airport, Pittsburgh

I have just checked out of the Microtel. The straw that broke the camel's back was when the iron I used from housekeeping drained rusty water all over my suit coat. I brought the garment, the iron and the the towel I cleaned up with to the front desk and the manager would not acknowledge the incident. He said his "company" told him thatpeople make up things all the time. I have stayed at this motel several days over a 3 week span. I overlooked minor problems because of the convenient location to my business destination. Here are a few more fun facts: The "free" breakfast consists of watered down orange juice that is the color of lemonade, cheap white bread for toast, generic cheap cereal, and waffles which are fine but they hide the syrup from the guests. Also the coffee is weak and the little frozen pastries are still partially frozen when they are put out. The entire building is filthy and the elevator smelled like a dead body was beneath the floor. People were holding their noses while riding in it. My non smoking room reeked. The drapes were smoky. OH and I could not connect to the wifi for the past 2 days. BUT all of this was my problem. I was told other customers had no problems and I was lying. So I will NEVER EVER stay at ANY Microtel. And I will spread the word as much as I possibly can.

do not give them a credit card they will over charge u every time

I STAYED AT THIS HOTEL ON OCTOBER 25 AND 26 OF 2008. IT WAS A PLANNED BUS TRIP TO SEE THE FOOTBALL GAMES. ALTHOUGH THE HOTEL WAS AWARE THAT WE WERE COMING, I FELL AS THOUGH THEY WERE UNPREPARED FOR A GROUP OF THIS SIZE. THE ROOMS APPEARED TO BE CLEAN HOWEVER, UPON CLOSER EXAMINATION I DIDN'T FIND THAT TO BE TRUE. I EXPECTED THE ROOMS TOO BE SMALL HICE HE NAME "MICROTEL" HOWEVER I FEEL AS THOUGH THE ROOM LACKED THE BASIC AMENITIES THAT I HAVE FOUND IN THE WORST HOTELS. THE HOTELS ADVERTISES THAT SOME ROOMS HAVE MICORWAVES, AND SOFAS, HOWEVER, I DID NOT SEE ANY OF THAT IN THE 25 ROOMS THAT WE BOOKED. FOR A RATE OF $70 I FELL AS THOUGH EACH ROOM SHOULD HAVE AN IRON, IRONING BOARD, SHAMPOO, AND LOTIONS. THE HOTEL ALSO ADVERTISES A FREE SHUTTLE SERVICE AND CONTINENTAIL BREAKFAST. BY NOW IT SHOULDN'T SUPRISE YOU THAT I ONLY SAW THE SHUTTLE TWO TIMES ON THE DAY WE ARRIVED AND NONE ON THE OTHER TWO DAYS THAT WE WERE THERE. THAT SURPRISED ME BECAUSE THE HOTEL ADVERTISES THAT THE SHUTTLE SERVICE RUNS EVERY 15 MINS. I ALSO EXPECTED TO FIND A CONTINENTIAL BREAKFAST AND ONLY FOUND JUICE, COFFE, AND TOAST ( SOME BREAKFAST). AMONG OTHER PROBLEMS, THE PEOPLE AT THE FRONT DESK WERE VERY RUDE AND ACTED AS THOUGH THEY DID NOT WANT TO BE BOTHERED. I AM AN UNDERSTANDING PERSON SO I GUESS I WOULD HAVE HAD THE SAME ATTITUDE IF MY ENTIRE HOUSE CLEANING STAFF QUIT AND I HAD A BOOKED HOTEL. YES! THE ENTIRE HOUSE CLEANING STAFF QUIT. THEREFORE, AFTER THE GAMES WE RETURNED BACK TO ROOMS THAT WERE LEFT THE SAME AS WE LEFT THEM. DIRTY TOWELS ,AND BATH CLOTHS, UNMADE BEDS, AND OVERFLOWIG TRASHCANS. THIS DID NT MAKE US HAPPY BECAUSE WE HAD BEEN PROMISED ROOM SERVICE. JUST WHEN WE THOUGHT THAT THE STAY COULDN'T GET ANY WORSE A GENTLEMAN WHO WAS APART OF OUR GROUP IS GREETED BY A COUPLE WHO OPENS THE DOOR WITH A KEY TO THE SAME ROOM THAT HAD ALREADY BEEN SOLD. YES! THE HOTEL SOLD THE SAME ROOM TWICE! CAN YOU IMAGINE? OK MAYBE I WAS A HONEST MISTAKE. BUT WHAT UPSET ME IS THAT THE FRONT DESK TRIED TO MAKE THIS OUR PROBLEM AND WANTED US TO PAY MORE MONEY AFTER THEY HAD ALREADY BEEN PAID AND THEY GAVE US THE ROOM. I DID NOT APPRECIATE THAT. NEEDLESS TO SAY WHEN I GO BACK TO PITTSBURGH I WILL NOT BE STAYING AT THIS MICROTEL INN AND WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE. I HAD STAYED AT OTHER MICROTEL INN AND SUITES AND HAVE NOT ENCOUNTERED THESES PROBLEMS SO THESES ISSUES ARE SPECIFIC TO THIS LOCATION. TO ADD ICING TO THE CAKE, WE REQUESTED THE CORPORATE OFFICE ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBER AND THE FRONK DESK ADVISED US THAT THERE AS NO CORPORATE OFFICE. HOWEVER THE DISSATISFACTION THAT I EXPERIENCED ALONG WITH THE ENTIRE GROUP WILL BE ADDRESSED.
