The hotel was great! We walked in and got a room, not many hotels in such a busy area would allow that! The room was updated, comfortable and quite lovely! Our room had a whirlpool and fireplace, both were amazing! The pool was a great temperature and we always had the room alone. The front desk associate was amazing! She was incredibly helpful, even when my husband and I were looking for a bottle of aloe at 8 o'clock at night. We will definitely be coming back to AppleCreek in the future! :)
First off, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The room had plenty of space for my wife and two kids and was very clean. The pool area was also well kept up. The location is perfect - right in the middle of Fish Creek, with plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance. We cannot wait to set up another winter getaway - and we will for sure be staying at the Apple Creek Resort again!!!
Just returned from an absolutely fabulous time in Door County. The Apple Creek Resort-Motel made the difference. The location was absolutely perfect. We had a deluxe suite with a bedroom and a separate murphy bed in the living room. The refrigerator was a bit small but the accomodations were so adequate. Loved the balcony. It was very quiet. The staff was very helpful. My husband and I brought a friend of ours who has had a stroke and everything about the facility was very comfortable for our friend. We hope to come back. We are from Colorado and we love our aspen tree colors in the fall but the maples in Door County in early October are absolutely gorgeous.
It is right across the street from Peninsula State Park and within easy walking distance of lots of shops in "downtown" Fish Creek. Fish Creek is nicely centrally located for trips to other parts of Door County, as well.
Staff was helpful, polite, and friendly. Balconies on our rooms were a great place to sit out and enjoy the lovely September weather.
We didn't have time to use the pool - far too much to see and do in Door County! - so I can't evaluate that.
Drawbacks were: no continental breakfast, as is offered by most places we stay, and the rather small refrigerator that is at floor level in the bathroom - which made it difficult to use, requiring getting down on my knees to rearrange and take out what I wanted.
Also, when we checked in, the room smelled strongly (of floral-scented air freshener?) and we had to open the balcony door for quite awhile before we could get rid of the odor.
We loved this place! Came up to Door County Labor Day weekend with the family to get away. Was able to get a great room at a great price right in Fish Creek.
We loved the pool and the staff was pleasant and helpful. They also had tons of great coupons and information to make our weekend easier to plan and more enjoyable. Who doesn't want to save a buck these days!
The grounds were clean and well maintained. The rooms were comfortable and affordable and the location was great! I have recommended Apple Creek to a few co-workers already. We had a great time and can't wait to go back!
This is a lovely establishment that is nestled amongst pine and birch trees. We were there for a friends wedding this past weekend and we couldn't have been more pleased. The location was great, we were able to easily enjoy shopping and hiking, the wedding and then relaxation in the whirlpool. The room was immaculate and very comfortable, the building itself is obviously well-loved and well-cared for. There was a new person on the staff who was very friendly and helpful, we enjoyed her sense of humor- good hiring choice! The lady "training" her did not appear to have to help her with very much, but was very professional when doing so. She was also fun and helpful. We've never been to Door County before but intend to come again when we have some more time to enjoy this lovely resort and the surrounding communities. I have told all my friends about Apple Creek Resort and look forward to our next visit!
I think our last stay at AppleCreek Resort was our fifth. We always enjoy being here. The motel was booked except for a double queen on the second floor which the clerk gave us for a reduced rate with the understanding we would move to a smaller room on the ground floor for day two. However Lynne (owner) told us to stay where we were as the room was not needed for a couple of days. We have always had clean rooms and the motel itself is clean. We always enjoy the pool and whirlpool. Lynne and her staff have always been very helpful when we ask about other businesses and places to eat. One thing we found exremely helpful was the pile of menus in the office. The prices are often out of date, but at least you can get an idea about a resturants offerings and what price range they are in. We also like being so close to town and the entrance to Peninsula State Park as we cruise thru the park about four times in two days. I also bike thru the park several times and it is sure convenient to ride to the park instead of puting the bike on the bike rack and driving to the park. We look forward to going back there every year.
The description was very misleading, and the price was high. The rooms are very outdated and cheap. I was in the honey moon suite, I would not consider this a suite;it was very cramped and in no way plush. I was also there on off season (Late Dec.) and I was only offered a 30 min. extension for check out in the morning. They were not accomadating. They also had no info on area events, and the front desk could be of no help. I have stayed in numerous places around Door Co. and found this one to be least attractive, comfortable, and accomadating. Find a different resort, there are so many to choose from.
We stayed in a double/queen room on the second floor. The room was spacious, clean, bright and cheery. The room included a refrigerator and microwave. The balcony (which had a table and charis) faced the back yard, so we had a nice view of trees and grass. It was peacful, quiet, and the staff was friendly. Although we didn't swim, we did check out the pool area. It looked well kept, very clean. The public areas inside as well as outside were also clean. The price was reasonable and I would recommend it to others looking for a nice place to stay in Fish Creek. There is a Italian restaurant (nothing fancy) right around the corner that just opened....the pizza was very good (the chicken alfredo was not).
