4 reviews for Traverse Bay Inn, Traverse City
A friendly visit
By Mike, 01/24/09
We stayed at the Traverse Bay Inn while we searched for a permanent home. The staff there is very friendly and helpful. Very accomodating and personable, they always have a smie on their faces. The room and kitchenette was very clean and well stocked for our needs. We saved money by cooking in our room instead of eating out. There are numerous stores in the nearby area for shopping. These include Walgreens and Tom's Market. I wouild highly recommend Traverse Bay Inn to anyone.

fine print and no return phone calls
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/16/08
Make sure you read the fine print about cancelling 7 days in advance or you get charged!!!! Most hotels need 24 hr cancellation but not this one. My car motor blew up the night before we were to leave so I had to call and cancel our weekend and got online and saw that I had been charged for it anyway. And of course, there is no phone number on the home page to call anyway's. When we called to cancel, the wrong number was on the e-mail confirmation that we were sent, but someone at another hotel gave us the number to this one. Of course, all we got was an answering machine anyway!!!!! I'm glad we didn't stay here and from reading the reviews, others also wished they hadn't.

Got Mice???
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/03/06
Although the location was acceptable, and the price was very competitive, the staff was less than helpful when we informed them about the dozen or so mice that were eating the food in our kitchenette. And to add additional insult to injury, no staff is on the property between 10:00 pm and at least 8:00 am to help with the problem. We eventually left to go sight seeing for the day at 8:00 am, and were scolded by the desk clerk for not informing them of the problem in a timely manner. Additional issues were the staff lack of knowledge about the area, and room phones that only called within the hotel (making necessary our own cell phones for even local calls). The bottom line is this... We most likely will return to Traverse City, MI for future vacations, and we will certainly NOT be staying at the Traverse Bay Inn.
