Paradise
By P, 5/3/07
I stayed at Five Sisters a couple of years ago and I had the best time. The staff was friendly and helpful. The place was clean and the food was terrific. We went on all the tours which were wonderful, the tour guides funny and ready for an adventure. I have to admit that I didn't like the bugs in Belize but during the summer in Seattle I don't like the mosquitos either. We swam in the water down by the falls which was warm and refreshing for February. I would recommend 5 Sisters to anyone traveling to Belize, it is far out there but worth the 2 hour van ride to get there. I had friends that stayed closer to the water for a couple nights and couldn't wait to get back to 5 Sisters. I think that the woman that saw the "rat" and think that staying there was like being on "fear factor" is out of her mind. I think that she was thinking that she was staying at the Hilton. It is a third world country without the everyday things that we think everyone should have...like a hairdryer...get over it. I never saw more than a lizard, and never anything in my cabana. I really think that if you are thinking about going to Belize go go go, I would go back in a minute if I had the money. It will always be the best trip I have ever been on and I loved 5 sisters

If the thick jungle is what u want..
By PC, 4/3/06
Five Sisters delivers. We left the following day that we arrived. It is truly in the middle of the jungle, I kept waiting to see Tarzan. Accomodations were the most basic I have ever seen, a mosquito net and everything. The views were gorgeous and the water fall was nice but other then that, not a whole lot to do. Although, I'm sure the tours are good. I think kids would be bored quickly, but there were grundgy students from Europe studying the environment there. This is a great place for zoologist, anthropologists, special forces trainees, and other animals. Don't forget your bug spray and long sleeve pants and shirt. We stayed at lodge on the beach near the village Hopkins before going to Three Sisters. We loved it there and the difference between lodge qualities was so vast we must have just gone into shock causing us to flee the country.

A stay at the FIVE SISTERS LODGE was like something out of FEAR FACTOR!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/3/06
We booked an all-inclusive trip to Belize. Our stay at the Five sisters Lodge Booked through Magnum Belize was like something out of Fear Factor ! We only stayed one night at the Five Sisters Lodge due to unacceptable and misrepresented accommodations. We were met at the municipal airport by Five sisters personnel who took us on a two hour ride to the lodge. Once there, we were briefly shown where the cabana and restaurant were. We were a little disappointed when we saw our cabana, there were 2 double beds instead of one queen size bed, (we were on our honeymoon)and were to have a honeymoon suite. There was no place to put our clothes - no closet or dresser of any kind. We ended up flinging our clothes over the poles overhead, and on the small table that was there. There were holes in the drywall in the bathroom that were plugged with toilet paper, the lighting was so dim one could barely read - 15 watt bulb in small bedside lamp and 2 wall lamps. Hairdryers could not be used due to their power supply. Even though we paid for an all inclusive 4 nights at this lodge, we had to pay extra for many things and there were no complimentary anything. They boasted about their trails and hiking but you had to pay 3 dollars for a poor quality small photocopy map, you had to rent the bikes if you wanted to use them. Pay an extra 3 dollars for use of the phone even for a local call for when I wanted to call to get a flight out of there! Our first night was like something you would see on "Fear Factor" we were just falling asleep, I thought I heard water dripping or what I thought was my husband scraping the wall with his hand as he was trying to get comfortable.... I asked "was that you," "did you hear that" It was not my husband. The drawer to the night stand was slightly open, I could see something moving in it, I shined a flashlight in there and a VERY LARGE Mouse or small RAT jumped out of the drawer! We flipped on the dim lights and looked round. There were rodent feces by our pillows, and along the wall under the beds. We went to find someone who worked there, but by ten PM no one was around and we didn't know how to get in contact with them. There was no information left In the room as to what to do, or who to contact in event of an emergency. We went back to our cabana and left the lights on all night. Needless to say, we did not sleep at all. Its not like this little critter left when we turned on the lights. The thatched roof came alive as the rodents were having a party with all their rodent friends in the thatched roof and right above our heads! Seven A.M. didn't come soon enough for us. I told the one of the Staff in the office, we were leaving that very day and she of course charged me to use the phone to call and change our flight reservations. A ride to the airport was provided without any problem. It blew my mind they didn't even ask why we were leaving or anything. We couldn't even consider taking a different cabana. Not that one was offered. Nor did they even seem interested as to why we were leaving. We figured they knew exactly why we were leaving. I contacted Magnum Belize immediately upon our return. They gave us a hard time about refunding our trip and we had to dispute the charges with the credit card company.

Hospitality At It's Best
By Dawn, 8/12/05
There is so much to love about Belize it is hard to begin. We stayed at the Five Sisters and had the trip of a lifetime. Their day tours are phenomenal. The service and hospitality is remarkable. The really aim to please their guests at the five sisters. The bungalows are neat and clean and the views from the hammoks on the patio are unbelievable. I would reccommend staying here to anyone who is interested in having an adventure in Belize. Make sure you do the Barton Creek Canoe tour and ask for Elmo as your guide. Great job Five sisters and we look forward to seeing you soon!!!!
