dissappointed
By audrey w, 09/08/09
All seemed ok at first. Lobby was beautiful, as is expected from a casino, and I expected a fantastic room. The room's appearence was nice but when I put my 4 year old son in the whirlpool to "swim", I noticed black hairs all over the tub. I got in there and cleaned it out myself. Disgusting. Then we discovered how thin the walls were, as we were kept up all night listening to drunk people stumbling and yelling, beating on the vending machine, and getting ice. All Night. Stayed 2 nights. For the same price, $99.00 a week night, stay at The Horseshoe. We stayed there the next week and it was Gorgeous and Unbelievable compared to Boomtown.

Awful slot machines
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/03/09
I stay at boomtown 6 - 7 times a month but have decided not to return. The rooms are rundown and it is a rarity to find a room that has bedding without burns or holes in it. The casino itself is horrible. When I spend $2000.00 in one night and cannot even get any pays that match my bet, that tells me that there is something fishy going on. I know that the machines are supposed to be regulated but maybe the state police need to look into this casino ! Wait, that's right, the state police get a cut of the earnings of the casinos in La. No wonder they don't pay anything. I don't plan on returning.!

Not worth stopping at
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/16/09
My family and I stayed there for one night and we were totally disgusted with the hotel. Our reservation was messed up, the buffet food was old and tasted bad, and the staff was rude. I have been playing at this casino for about four years and will never go back.

Love It
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/29/08
My husband and I live in Texas not to far from Bossier City Louisiana and we go Boomtown as often as we are able to and we have no complaints at all. We are not always able to get a room when we need it but.....I don't always call early enough so that is my fault. I always feel safe at Boomtown and they park our car and return it to us when we are ready to go home and that is a big help as I can't walk very far due to a disability. We will continue to go to Boomtown as long as they keep on treating us right.

Going back next month
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/14/08
The casino itself is great. Clean, comfortable, well lit and the foor workers are always friendly and helpful. The 1800 Prime Steak House has excellent food although abit pricey. When you book reservations at the hotel, they require a credit card but when you arrive to check in you are told the rooms are on a first come first serve basis so you may not get the accomodation you requested. Some of the rooms in the hotel are beginning to show signs of wear and need to be refurbished. However some of them have already been refurbished and if you are fortunate enough to get one they are not only beautiful but are very comfortable and have every amenity you need. All in all it is a beautiful property and well worth the few irritations you might have. I would strongly recomend it to anyone.I have already booked reservation again for next month.

Humiliation on lower deck
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/08/08
I flew my friend to Shreveport from Arkansas for Christmas. On Dec. 28th we were playing the Lobster Mania on the lower level. I was teaching my friend Tonja how the machine worked and when the machine started hitting I told her to increase her bet. She had the print out from the last machine we played before going to dinner. It was $18.?? I told her to put the voucher in the machine and increase her bet. She did and the machine took the voucher but never gave her credit for it and did not even acknowledge it had taken the ticket. I hit the cash out button thinking it would kick out the $8. ?? amount she already had in there and eject the $18.?? we had attempted to put in the machine. Nope it did not eject the $18.?? ticket it did eject the $8.?? ticket. I told her to stay at the machine and I would find one of the floor help. I found a female employee and brought her to the machine and explained everything. She said the machine should of said tilt or void or something. I said but it didn't! She went and got her manager. I have no idea what his name was he is an older man and black. I only stated the fact that he was black to identify him if you read this and have or had problems with the same person. IHe did not believe us and my friend took him to the machine she had played before we went to dinner and he was able to pull up the cashed out voucher for $18.?? but he seen where it was dated approx. 1 hour earlier and questioned her about that. We explained we had just got back from dinner. We asked him to open the machine he said he could not. With much argueing and insinuated wrong doing on our part he called the floor employee over and stated "I'm only going to do this once." I am a regular at this casino I spend between $300.00 and $700.00 a week at the Bossier Boomtown. I was very offended and insulted by his statement and accusations. If we were going to try to steal money it would not be for $18.??! I felt bad for my friend as well. She had just spent a night layed over in Memphis due to weather. I had left my billfold in the restroom of a truckstop where I had stopped to buy gas and lost $628.00! So this was just the final insult.

Upcoming New Years Eve 07
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/17/07
I have been trying since 10/07 to book a room for New Years Eve. They will not allow you to . I did get a card in the mail finally for what I thought was reserve a room for myself and friends from Missouri. When I called I was told it was only to be put on a list??? Here it is 12/16/07 and I have yet to know with company coming whether we have a room or not. Myself and others go the Boomtown biweekly at least and spend several hundred dollars each. We have been loyal to them I just hope they will return the loyalty.

needs new management
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/01/07
My husband's family always have a reunion in shreveport every may any his mother books her rooms at the casino of her choice. My husband paid for her room on his credit/bebit card. Some 6-7 mos later money came up missing from my husbands bank and the casino took money in error and was not in good will about refunding the amount. The management, cust svc, and everyone we thought we needed to speak with at 1a.m in the morning and all they said was we were pulling a prank call!!! I believe we would have had better things to do that time of morning and they did not take us serious in the matter.
