Hotel Tjampuhan, Ubud

WE stayed at the TJAMPUHAN on recomendations online. After staying in Candi Dasa (puri bagus) this hotel was a big change. An older hotel, rooms are lovely and private. You cant see the other rooms at all thanks to the amazing gardens. Pools were great although UBUD is cooler than elsewhere in Bali. Breakfasts were THE BEST absolutely amazing selection and a satisfying start to the day. Free shuttle into UBUD although we walked most days as it was close. Bintang Supermarket just up the street for handy snack foods. the in room service is fantastic LOTS OF STAIRS. Its a work out if you get a room near the bottom but the paths are a delight to explore. The pool bar staff are fantastic and highly friendly. Bathrooms are ok, not the greatest shape but the location, staff and general atmosphere makes up for this. Rooms near the top are noisy. If they take you to a top level room request one further down as the noise from the traffic, they wil happily oblige. No fridge in rooms either but can get one on request. I'd stay there again in an instant except we are travelling with the kids next time and I dont think this hotel is suitable for small children.
