checked in and went to room someone was in room we went back to desk they had no record of anyone in room after searching found out he had been in room for 3 weeks no one knew then said my card would not be charged checked account next day it was charged Manager would not come and see us we had to drive 2.5 hours home because there were no rooms around we had made reservations 1.5 months ago have stayed here several years with several groups with us but never again

What did we like? Location and the massive effort the solitary staff person put into trying to make us comfortable. What did we dislike? Our non-smoking suite reeked of cigarette smoke (as did every square inch of the hotel), The pool was disgusting and the hot tub was beyond disgusting. Our children wouldn't get in the pool or the hot tub it was so bad. Of course one of the reasons we chose the place was for the indoor pool and the hot tub so that lowered the value considerably. The "breakfast" wasn't worth trying, very few restaurants nearby, and the card-key wouldn't unlock our door because the battery was dead in the lock. The desk clerk had to open the door for us every time we wanted in. As I said she was the only employee in the hotel. Don't expect great service. It wasn't her fault. She was trying her hardest. The management who understaffed the property were to blame. There was another motel down the street which I wished we had stayed at. It would have to have been much better value. It would have been hard to be worse.

We stayed here on a weekend swim trip , because we had a coupon for $39.00. Our room was well worth $90.00 + per night. The problem was noise... You could hear everything 3 county's away! The walls had to of been made of cardboard. When we went to bed around 11 p.m. we kept hearing "THUMP , THUMP" And we had our dogs so it was making them bark... When we woke up at 5:00 a.m. after a terrible nights sleep we woke up to a drunk man outside our room.......... VERY UNPLEASANT TO EXPLAIN TO A 3 YEAR OLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you have kids steer away!

Mold on the bathroom walls. The baseboard was peeling back in the bathroom. Stains and a gross substance on the chairs. The stains I could see made me even more worried about the general cleanliness of the room. Inefficient air-conditioning. Very few TV channels. Overpowering smell of chlorine in lobby. Friendly staff. However, a pleasant time at the front desk could not overcome an extremely unpleasant stay. There are too many other hotels in Richmond for anyone to willingly stay at this dump.
