Excellent experience, note on food.
My wife and I just returned from a two-night stay at the Hilton Naples. This was a pleasure trip, and it was a pleasure, indeed.
Every staff person we encountered went above and beyond to make us welcome and to ensure we had everything we needed. Not only was the staff extremely friendly, they were also empowered to make decisions on the spot when we had issues or special requirements.
The property was clean and is obviously well maintained. There were a lot of families with kids when we stayed on a holiday weekend. That can usually present a challenge to keep things clean and quiet. But it was never an issue for us.
All food service for the hotel (including 24-hour room service) is provided by the kitchen at Shula's Steakhouse, which is on-site. You should note that Shula's is a premium chain, and is well known for very high quality, and equally high prices. However, there is a breakfast, lunch and dinner menu that was reasonable. We did have an minor issue when we went to the restaurant for dinner. We did not want beef, and the very professional waiter was programmed to make a big "cart pitch," verbally presenting a "menu." We had a hard time getting him to bring us a printed menu. If I went back, I would bring my menu from the room with me to the restaurant. I love high-end steakhouses, but when you just want a simple dinner, they try to force us through the "$100+ per head experience."
That said, there are other great restaurants very close.
We drove our car to the beach, and they provided us, gratis, with towels and very comfortable beach chairs, and they packed bottled waters in a cooler for us. Very nice touch.
We brought bikes. But they had single speed bikes for guests to use.
Again, I can't say enough for how friendly the staff was. I've travelled on business for more than 20 years and have seen my share of hotels. And we live in Florida and we spend weekends at resort areas a couple of times a year. This one is a new favorite.
