Very nice hotel, great value

This hotel was a very nice surprise. I'm used to staying at more expensive hotels and chose this one only because it was convenient to various locations in South Austin. I wasn't expecting much, but it turned out to be very, very nice. Although we didn't use it as such, the hotel is intended as an extended stay place, so the rooms have stoves, refrigerators, microwave ovens, dishwashers and dishes. There are wonderful little touches, such as packaged microwave popcorn sitting in the microwave oven when you arrive. Laundry is free. There's a snack area with goodies at reasonable prices, and it is operated on an honor system: Take what you want, but fill out a little form indicating your room number. The staff was great, and there's a nice "culture" to the hotel. If you want an inexpensive hotel for a few days, you won't go wrong with this one.
As far as negatives, I can think of two: (1) There's no dining on the premises, but there are restaurants for breakfast maybe a two minute walk away. (2) The hotel is on a service road of I-35, so it's a little tricky getting to the hotel if you're traveling on the other side of I-35. This is not really that difficult though. All in all, a very positive experience
