Country Lodge, Turtle Lake

this motel is outstanding. very helpful staff, very polite. I disagree with all the bad remarks made about this motel. My husband and I have stayed here many times and have always found the rooms very clean, the staff very kind, polite and helpful. They all go out of their way to make our stay the best we could ever have. We've always been very pleased with everything and very happy we stayed there. Great choice in food, also. They also go out of their way to make holidays special. I find it hard to believe that there are such rude comments being made about such a wonderful motel and wonderful staff. The people here who have left rude comments about this motel probably would have rude things to say about all motels they stay in. Some people just can't be pleased even if it is given to them free and on a gold platter. I would HIGHLY refer this motel to anyone, friends or family. Pool and hot tub are clean and great ,also.

Do not stay in this facility!!! They are the rudest people that I have EVER met!!! When you ask them a question they look at you like you are crazy, they told our friends there were no more pillows even though I could see there were at least 6 on the shelf. The place is dirty and they are beyond rude!!!! When I went to iron for a wedding on Saturday the ironing board was broken and they accused me of breaking it!! They screamed at my children and husband to "GET OUT". The woman insulted me and my children who were barely in the hotel, and despite the fact that I am visibly pregnant they verbally attacked me!!! My family stays at hotels very frequently and the only reason we stayed there was because the casino hotel was full. Given the need again I would rather have slept in my car!! After our trip I read the reviews online and realized that we were not the only ones experiencing this problem! I wish I had known, I can't believe how rude and nasty these people were. The pool and hottub are disgusting and ther was at least an inch of dust behind the toilet in the bathroom not to mention the ants all overt the room!!! They just watch you and follow you around and then offer ZERO customer service!!! BY FAR THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD!!

I visit the casino quite frequently but during one of my visits the casino was booked and they recommended that I go to the motel across the street. The hotel "Country Lodge" was nice and cozy and has a hottub and a pool which my children had a great time playing in. The staff was excellent and provided me with all the service and ammendities I required in a polite and timely manner. Country Lodge was a real life saver for my family and I. If we didnt get a room there I would have to drive back home. Thanks alot.

We stayed there a few weeks ago and I found the room very dirty.The room is only service cleaned. When you really look it is not cleaned. The mattrases are very old and torned and stained. Look under the bed and sofa or on the curtains. The cleaning crew said they don't know when the bedspreds were cleaned last and they worked there over a year. Dust mites everywhere. The chair and kitchen chairs were filthy and stained. Cleaning crew took only 10 min to clean and on to next. How can you clean after strangers in ten minutes. I didn't want to stay but everything was booked. So next time I will see the room before I book a motel.

My husband and I had a chance for a quick one night get away and wanted to enjoy an evening away from home. Our original hotel that we had reserved was having a little trouble and the pool and hot tub were closed the night we were there. We went in to Country Lodge to see if they had any availability for the evening and they said they did have a suite available. Their idea of a suite is a cramped single room with a curtain around the bed. We opened the door and immediately saw it was not what we were looking for. We went back down to the front desk to express our displeasure and to tell them we did not want the room. Instead of any apology or concern from the hotel owners we were charged full price for a room we didn't even spend 2 seconds in. Do yourself a favor and look for a friendlier and nicer place to stay.

We stayed at the Country Lodge 10/15/07 for $74.46. Nice accomodations and good assortment for breakfast. Very clean. Very courteous staff. Helpful in all ways.

Let me first state that I am a traveling salesman. I only stay in modern motels/hotels, with good quality furniture, with very clean rooms, in well kept buildings. I expect the staff to be friendly & courteous. Hey, I don't have to pay for my rooms so why shouldn't I get the best room I can find! Turns out, this place wasn't costly, ($75 for one night) and it was superb. Don't believe the reviews that were critical of this motel, it is as good a facility as you'll find anywhere.

The worst customer service I have experienced in my life! They think just because they are located across from Turtle Lake Casino (and get plenty of business as a result) and have a no refund policy that they can treat their customers with disrespect. The customer at the reservation desk just before us was treated very rudely. This didn't sit well with me to start and eventually ended up insulting my wife. I asked to speak with the manager (who was his mother) and was just as rude. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!

Clean, friendly, great breakfast area with wide range of choices. Clean and quiet rooms. This was a great experience. Would come back again.

My family has stayed in this hotel several times back when it was still a Country Inn and Suites. We made our reservation a year ago because the weekend of July 4th is extremely busy and hotels fill up fast. We called at around noon to let them know that we were going to check in late, at around 10 or 11 at night, to which they finally agreed only after a heated "discussion". When we arrived at the hotel to check in, we discovered that our reservation had been cancelled because my credit card had been declined. (Since I reserved the room a year ago, it was with an old credit card that was no longer valid, I completely forgot about that but I would have gladly given them a new credit card if they had said something.) The woman at the desk (also the new owner) said that she had called my home before she cancelled the reservation (Duh! If we were at home we wouldn't need a hotel!) This hotel completely ruined our vacation, we were luck to only be 1 1/2 hours away from home in St. Paul, not sure what we would have done if home were further away. Upon arriving home, there was a message on my answering machine from the owner of the hotel earlier that evening screaming about how she was very angry with me. This is no way to run a hotel, I would recommend against staying there. There is a very nice Holiday Inn Express roughly 25 miles down the road in St. Croix Falls.
