Unethical Practices uncounted at this Hotel
I never got a chance to stay in the hotel, lets make that clear! I had booked a reservation for the hotel for September 23rd for one night. The online reservation system has a default date setup in it to post the next day arrival. I found a better rate and cancelled the previous reservation I had and updated that reservation for the better rate, well when I did this, the online reservation system defaulted back to the next day date and I did not notice it. When I discovered the charge on my bank account, I called the hotel immediately and inform the desk clerk Joel what happened and that it was a mistake and what the date was intended for; he informed me that he would try to make it right for me and make the reservation for the date it was intended "IF" I was not able to get my credit card refunded. He informed me that he had to discuss this with his Manager (Robert Santiago). I received a call shortly afterwards from Joel the guest service agent that he was not able to do anything for me and basically said that I was screwed and if I wanted to stay for the intended date, I would have to pay again. I asked to speak with the GM and he got on the phone and lied to me that the hotel was sold out that night (a Monday night) and he was not going to do anything about it. He was short with me and very rude and he lied about being over-booked according the the desk agent. I am a Hilton's Honor member, so I called HH representative and spoke with Danelle Campbell about it, she then calls the hotel and speaks with the GM and he tells her that I was aware of the reservations date and that I made everything up. I was so upset about this, because he did not care about me as a customer, he had no idea who I was and cared less, This is not the standard of Hilton Hotels that I am accustom to and shocked by the way he handle it. Ms. Campbell decided to make it right for me by refunding my charge, but it was not a pleasant experience. I felt like a criminal trying to prove my case. I have not been refunded yet, but it is in the process. **WARNING** Please be aware of the date default feature if you make a reservation online; it might save you some hard-ache in the end and I will never stay at Hampton Inn Niagara Falls 501 Rainbow Boulevard because of my experience.
