Great Time, Safe-Secure Area!
By Jason H, 03/10/09
I liked all it had to offer. Stayed here from Feb 28th - March 5th for Bike week. Very nice area of town, felt secure the entire stay. It is just a 1/4 mile from Daytona Speedway (off turn 4 believe). Staff was nice and friendly...very helpful when "extras" were needed. Check in and out was painless. I read other reviews on how the rooms were "too small"...I often question why people say this....do they spend all their time in the room? I sure don't...it is a place to sleep and clean-up!! We had a room with two double beds...space was more than adequate!! They had a bike wash area set up with a hose coming off the main water supply to the hotel and a box of clean towels to dry your bike...along with a modified "trash can" to hold the wet/dirty used towels. I think this was above and beyond!!! They also provided an area at the end of the property to put trucks and trailers for those of us that trailered the bikes down...awsome!!! Some hotels want major $$ to park things like this on site during bike week!! Some people said they messed up their reservations...here is a thought...after you book online, call them directly to confirm.... Please feel free to contact me if you want more info: Jason hoytheld@yahoo.com

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/18/08
the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, the AGM Rose went out of her way to make us feel comfortable, the room was what you would exspect for the price, all hotel customer service should be this good........

Great place, but not for a long vacation.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/09/08
As far as location is concerned, you won't find much better, at anywhere near this cost, than the Suburban Extended Stay. The room itself wasn't bad. I did not see any bugs referenced in previous reviews. Fridge is rather small, but if you're staying for only a couple of days, it'll suffice. However, I stayed there 11 nights with the family and it wasn't sufficient for that much time. In addition, the beds were fine for a couple of nights, but, by the 4th or 5th day, our backs and necks were starting to ache. It's an extended stay - you won't see daily maid service. If you need toilet paper, as someone else commented in a previous review, don't walk around looking for a maid - go to the office and they'll give you some. The pool is nice and cold, and clean. However, keep in mind that there are a lot of trees around, so, yes, you'll see leaves in it if you don't go right after the pool guy has cleaned it. Internet service isn't good in the rooms if you're not very close to the office. I'd definitely stay there again if, for example, I was only going for a couple of days for a race weekend or something like that, but not for a lengthy family vacation - regardless of how inexpensive it is. For that purpose, the fridges would have to be bigger and the beds more comfortable.

Location Location Location
By Diane, 03/01/08
I had read a few very bad reviews of this hotel and was a little nervous about booking a stay here, but the hotel was in the perfect location - a long block from the turn 4 tunnel to Daytona Speedway, the price was lower than most anything in town and the hotel didn't require a 5 night reservation. But the reviews must have been describing a different hotel. I found a very clean hotel staffed by people all day long who were frequently out patrolling the property to see if everything was OK very nice and very helpful. The property is an extended stay, so you do need to plan ahead and bring things you would normally have available at, oh, say a Hilton (like a hair drier, coffee) but shampoo was provided. Towels were changed daily, the bathroom appeared to be cleaned and it appeared the room was vacumned. Long term stays are giving a notice on check in of what services will be provided when. Parking was not an issue - guests were given parking passes and sufficient spaces were always held at the back of the hotel for guests even during the race. It was a little noisy but chalk that up to the guests - rabid race fans consuming too much sponsor product - than the hotel itself.

I would like to extend our warmest thanks for the Manager, Gary for his expedious and courteous manner helping us! We are faithful Surburban Lodge recipients for every Daytona Shootout and I can truly say this was one of the more pleasant ones! Kudo's to the Staff there!! Sincerely, Shvonna R. Hearn & family

Great economy hotel
By a, 01/30/08
We stayed during the Rolex 24 at Daytona speedway. We arrived a day before our reservation and the front desk moved us into a room so we didn't have move during our stay. Very Nice. This is an economy hotel, very clean and nice not alot of ammenities but all you need. A 2 burner cooktop, refrigerator, plates, glasses and cooking utensils to make a meal. We chatted with the manager, he was out and about checking on the rooms, not behind a desk! Only about a 3 block walk to the Speedway infield so you can leave your car and not worry about traffic. The women at the front desk was very polite and considerate, Thanks for your help, great customer service.

Good, But Not Great
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/03/07
Sort of off the main drag, which isn't bad. Quiet enough in this respect, but beware of the following: 1. If you think your bedroom is small, just try one of these. Don't open the door too quickly or you'll bump the bed. 2. They only service your room once every other day. Need toilet paper? Have fun trying to find a maid in that respect. You'll also have to live with cold and wet towels. 3. Thinnest sheets in the world which means if you leave the a/c on during the night you'll be stiff in the morning since the a/c blows directly on your feet. 4. TV is satellite, apparently. Anything over a small cloud produces the "can't locate signal" error. Played "find a channel most of the night" 5. Wireless Internet works as promised. 6. This is a rather rough area after dark. At least near the beach you have the safety of crowds. In this area nearly everybody disappears after 11 p.m. and you have to wonder about those who are out.

Great for the money
By Jeanna, 07/16/07
We stayed at Surburban in July. We had a great room with even a kitchen most hotels do not offer this. The staff were very friendly. The maids came and made our beds daily and left fresh towels. The rooms were very clean. Very close to the speedway. We will be staying again in the future.

value for money
By k.k.a, 05/23/07
value for money! compared to the rip-off rates the other hotels have in the area. staff were kind, understanding and dispassionate. agreed that I could check out as soon as I checked in as the bed linen had not been changed. recommend it to those who are cost conscious and not too hung up on ambience.

You get what you pay for.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/15/06
The establishment is near everything which is very convenient. The room was tidy and somewhat comfortable. The customer service, though, was poor. Weren't very attentive and forgot to have the room ready by check-in time which did not help. Typically what one should expect for the value.
