GREAT HOTEL AND EXCELLENT SERVICE WITH A SMILE!!!
By Brian, 12/21/08
Our stay at the Comfort Suites Hotel in Chincoteague Island was absolutely wonderful. If there is an award to be given out for excellent facilities and service, this hotel should get it! We stayed there for four nights in November and our family enjoyed a large, clean suite with two comfortable queen-size beds, a microwave, small refrigerator and sofa bed (our room was located in the Wharf side Suites section of the hotel). The suite also had a balcony with a lovely view of the bay and nearby bridge. The hotel staff, including reservations, front desk, housekeeping, and the breakfast attendant, were extremely friendly and helpful. Great management staff too! Breakfast was included in the room cost and was excellent. There were many items to choose from on the breakfast bar, including bagels, eggs and sausage, cold and hot cereal, fruit, muffins, pastries, juice, coffee, make your own waffles, etc. The breakfast menu changed slightly each day to add variety. The hotel also has an indoor/outdoor pool, fitness room and a small game room. We also enjoyed seeing the many wild ducks, geese and other birds that run wild throughout the hotel grounds. The Wildlife Refuge is only a short drive from the hotel and a must see (fee was $5.00 per car). There are also several good restaurants nearby. We ate at Don’s Seafood Restaurant (our favorite restaurant during our stay)—entrees were a little pricey but well worth the price with its delicious, fresh seafood and other tasty menu items. We also dined at Maria’s Restaurant and Pizza and enjoyed a good pizza dinner. We loved the Comfort Suites Hotel, the beautiful, charming Town of Chincoteague Island, and its warm, friendly people. We look forward to returning soon as this is now one of our favorite places to visit!

What a friendly staff!

Absolutely loved the stay over Labor Day Weekend. The staff were amazingly hospitable and cheerful. My family felt safe and relaxed during the stay. It was quiet and the scene was beautiful.

Excellent accomodations
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/14/07
Each year in January my wife, son and I stay here after hunting geese in Maryland. We arrive in hunting clothes with shotguns and luggage in tow. This area is known for duck and goose hunting and no one pays us any attention as we check in and head to the room. After changing into casual clothes, the wildlife refuge is a short drive away to pass the day birdwatching. The staff, hotel accomodations, view from the rooms and breakfast offerings are excellent. My wife and I usually squeeze in a relaxing weekend later in the winter or early spring. Like others may do, I look at the Hampton Inn next door but can't bring my self to leave the Comfort Inn. Wished I was there now instead of at work.

fantastic!!
By 12th man nation, 12/16/06
We've stayed at this Comfort Suites several times. The last time in 5/06. Staff very nice. I left a book there and they called us and to let us know they were mailing it back to me. Breakfast is always great....especially when you bring it up to your room and eat on your balcony overlooking the water. I keep meaning to try the hotel next door, the Hampton Inn and suites...but we just like this one too much!

Clean, Comfortable, Convenient

Very comfortable and clean. Convenient location with pleasant bay view. Hotel staff professional and helpful. One of the best, if not the best on Chincoteague.

A new hide away - wil be back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/25/06
This was our first trip to Chincoteague after 20 years of Ocean City and Rehobeth. It was just us "adults" this time and we loved it. VERY relaxing and beautiful scenery. The hotel was wonderful, we loved the balcony with the water view and the sunsets to enjoy. The hotel was clean and we can't complain about a thing. Be sure to take the Linda J Cruise.....Linda and Capt Gerry were great.....over 2 hours of history and fun on a clean new boat. Our favorite place to eat was AJ's (closed Sundays) Mr. Whippy's was good but the service (teens to busy to serve or act nice) was poor. Our second favorite hang out was the Main Street Coffee Cafe/gift shop. It is only open weekends this time of the year - incredible drinks and wonderful blueberry muffins.

A Good Choice
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/24/06
After a few days with fast paced days in Ocean City, we were ready to get into a more relaxed atmosphere which also offered beach access and other attractions. After reviewing the area on the internet, we felt the kids would enjoy Chincoteaque, VA. We usually book the Hampton Inn, but this time we decided to try the Comfort Suites. The children enjoyed going to the beach in the early morning hours to search for seashells and watch the sunrise. The wild horses were also a special treat along with the light house. The front desk staff was helpful in giving us information on areas of interest along with supplying menus for local restaurants. To top all this off, Sandy at the front desk offered much heartfelt service and we thank her for special sharing and caring! This hotel gets a high rating in room, pools and location to attractions but there needs to be a special rating for the people who go above and beyond their job duties at the hotel. Our vacation had a very happy ending and we will not hesitate in the future to choose to make our stay at the Comfort Suites in Chincoteque.

Overall a good hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/14/06
The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. They recommended places to eat and even gave us some Fabreeze for our room. The room was a good size with a good view of the bay, however it smelled a bit musty. The indoor and outdoor pools were great (kids favorite)! My husband however loved the all you can eat continental breakfast, with make your own waffles. I however loved the coffee in the lobby that was available throughout the day. We would have given it 5 stars if our room had smelled better.

Loved the stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/07/06
the only issue that we had during our stay was that the indoor pool was really cloudy the whole time we were there. It was raining our whole stay so if it were clean we would have had more fun. Other than that everything was great!
