Roaches anyone?
I stay in Ft. Payne 2-3 times a week on business with the local hospital and my colleagues had recommended this hotel over my usual, the Hampton Inn. I tried it one week and was sadly disappointed. The bed was very uncomfortable, the microwave was dirty, and..you guessed it, there were german roaches in my room. I woke in the early morning and went into the bathroom, switched on the light a 3 of the little buggers scurried away. Horrified, I went to the main room again to call the front desk, and when I switched on the light, there were 3-5 more of the roaming around the microwave-refridgerator area. I called the front desk who told me, "I'll be happy to bring you some bug spray." Not exactly the answer I was looking for. Needless to say, I checked out the next day. The General manager did call me extremely apologetic and offered to let me stay in the executive suite on my next trip. I reluctantly agreed. When I called 3 weeks later to make that reservation, the general manager (the same one whom I had talked to the day after my stay) said, "I never would have offered that." I will never stay at another hotel by this company, and neither will anyone from my company.
