Best Find of our Yard Sale Trip
By Susan, 11/18/08
We stayed at this hotel during the World's Longest Yardsale and it was definitely one of our better bargains. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The youg gentleman that checked us in offered us cookies and coffee. He also had helpful suggestions for dinner. We had a wonderful night's rest on one of the most comforatble beds I have ever slept on. Before we checked out we were treated to a complimentary breakfast of bacon, biscuits, gravy, grits and eggs. What a terrific way to start another long day of yardsaling. I would definitely recommend this hotel-We plan on staying there next year.

Best Place in Dekalb County
By Swanny, 08/28/08
I've stayed at many hotels in the DeKalb County area, but I must say this is the best. From the moment I checked in the service was fantastic. The people were friendly and accommodating. The rooms were incredibly clean. The bed was very comfortable. Holiday Inn Express's breakfast bar has always been a favorite of mine, and this was no different. The bar was kept fresh and stocked. Overall I would recommend this to anyone who stays in the Ft. Payne or Rainsville area.

Roaches anyone?
By Lily, 09/05/06
I stay in Ft. Payne 2-3 times a week on business with the local hospital and my colleagues had recommended this hotel over my usual, the Hampton Inn. I tried it one week and was sadly disappointed. The bed was very uncomfortable, the microwave was dirty, and..you guessed it, there were german roaches in my room. I woke in the early morning and went into the bathroom, switched on the light a 3 of the little buggers scurried away. Horrified, I went to the main room again to call the front desk, and when I switched on the light, there were 3-5 more of the roaming around the microwave-refridgerator area. I called the front desk who told me, "I'll be happy to bring you some bug spray." Not exactly the answer I was looking for. Needless to say, I checked out the next day. The General manager did call me extremely apologetic and offered to let me stay in the executive suite on my next trip. I reluctantly agreed. When I called 3 weeks later to make that reservation, the general manager (the same one whom I had talked to the day after my stay) said, "I never would have offered that." I will never stay at another hotel by this company, and neither will anyone from my company.

Holiday INN - 5 star service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/25/05
Over the years have always admired the quality of service from Holiday Inn. After 2 terrible nights in Trussville, AL. (see review) stayed here on way home. This location shined (5 stars) with service and value. It completely restored my image of Holiday Inns. It proved without a doubt that "one bad apple won't waste the entire basket". The hotel was extremely busy with "little league" ballplayers but managed to keep the hotel comfortable for all and the kids entertained (extended the pool hours so they could enjoy it more). The staff was superb, rooms clean and the NIGHT was quiet. This is another "GEM" in the Holiday Inn organization, and it would do well for all their quest that stay here.
