Under no conditions...

We were traveling for a wedding and needed somewhere we could stay for more than just a couple of days. Upon arrival we immediately had a bad feeling as soon as we opened the front door. It was dark, dirty and looked like a scene out of a bad movie. Two clerks were working the small bank window type check in desk. The only thing missing to make it a complete scary movie scene would have been a bullet proof glass window. Having wedding committments waiting for me, I check in ignoring my gut instincts. Upon opening the door to the room, my suspensions were confirmed. It was old, small and DIRTY. I looked first at the bathroom (checking for cleanliness) and saw what I believed to be a woman's hair tie on top of the shower curtain. Why I made the choice to touch it is still a mystery, but I did. I wish it had been a hair tie but instead it was dirty underwear. I immediately left the room to check out. Why my daughter was gathering up the suitcases and various things she had taken off the luggage cart, she noticed the trash had not been dumped and was full of beer bottles. I was already at the front desk telling the clerk to cancel my stay, which by the way he never even asked why and cancelled my stay without hesitation, I assume the expression on my face said enough. I had to wonder though if he hears that often from decent, clean travelers. It appeared to not even phase him. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone under any conditions.
