Because I did what?
My wife and I booked our anniversary vacation through Priceline.com
We entered a rate and the level of quality we desired. (Stars.) We knew it was a gamble on the Hotel but we still rolled the dice. The result was Loews Hotel and Resort in Lake Las Vegas. My wife was excited. What a perfect place to spend our Anniversary. A room with a lake view, We had visited the area once before and wanted to come back and stay. Everything seemed so right.
Once we arrived and checked in we went to our room expecting a view of the lake (being in lake Las Vegas you really want to see that from you room.) We had a view of the PARKING LOT and a golden dried grass golf course.
We hadn't unpacked the car so it was nothing to go down to the front desk and ask about our room. I explained that we were on our anniversary and we accepted this resort because of the romantic lake view. The Guess service clerk exampled that the Hotel DOES have rooms over looking the lake, for an extra $30.00 per night. I kindly ask to speak with a manager. I spoke with Jessica Torres: Front Desk Manager (702.567.6000) who explain because We booked out room through Priceline and we paid the lowest rate we didn't qualify for a room with a lake view without paying extra. She politely asked if I wanted to pay. My wife declined.
That was our 1st and major issue. The next issue was when I went to unload my car. The Bell hop at the front door allowed me to stand in the sun with my bags for at least 5 minutes. In fact I had to flag him and ask was I suppose to load my own bags?
The third issue was a bit odd. In our room while trying to write this review, the Internet connection goes out, both wired and wireless connection. Strange days at place that is
suppose to be 4 star resort. The Tech support suggested that it was the cable in our room, although there wasn't a wireless adapter sending a signal in the room. It was the "Cable". My wireless connection works just fine "outside" the room.
Maybe it was us, maybe our expectations were too high, we did think that a resort in Vegas without a Casino, SHOULD offer a bit extra in room quality and service, maybe we didn't look the part OR the hotel staff felt our business wasn't worth saving. Our room was prepaid and non refundable, if only we could had just walked out telling them to keep the money and relocate to the "Strip". One thing is for sure, this place is NOT worth what we paid.
I own my own business. I understand that the customer isn't always right, but that should stop them from having an enjoyable experience. All we were offered was 2 free drinks at the bar for our Anniversary.
Finally - allow me to add, I'm writing this review in the lobby only a few feet from the
front desk, this place makes a clear and present difference between what they deem "Normal" customers and "Priceline" customers. Be fair warned and well advised; The Loews Hotel and Resort IS NOT a 4 Star accommodation.
Oh and the pool hours are from 8 to 8 who closes their at 8 pm in Las Vegas?
