Sea Watch Resort, Myrtle Beach

Shared a 3 bedroom condo and had the oceanfront bedroom. It was a maize of doors. In order to get in the closet, the room door had to be shut,the chest of drawers couldn't be opened without hitting the bed, in addition to them all sticking and being difficult to reach. The paint on every front door to every condo on our floor was chipped and peeling in addition to the rooms being small and the furniture very worn and cheap looking. Great view from the balcony!

We stayed in the North Tower in room 1106. It could have used a deep cleaning in this one bedroom unit. The place is in need of a do-over. We have stayed at Sea Watch many years but it seems that every year no changes have been made to upgrade the resort. It is sad to see such a great place to visit at the beach go down in value. The best thing about our stay here was our friendly housekeeper who went out of her way to make sure that what we needed she took care of with a smile on her face. I do hope they spend some money and keep this resort a positive place to enjoy a family vacation.

We have been vacationing at Seawatch for 8 years, and we have loved every minute of it. We usually rent a two bedroom from the owner, so we know exactly which condo we are getting, since we prefer a corner condo. All the pools are kept clean, the restaurant is great, and this is in a super nice area of the beach. We love Seawatch, and many of our friends feel the same way. We go every year.

I loved the facted that is was clean and nice. I also like the facted that there was alot of pools and the beach was in walking distant. It was a lot of space in the rooms to walk around in. Real good family and kid place. Good house keeping when you need them. The only thing i didn't like was the beds weren't so comfortable and no locks on the bedroom door. Other then that it was a nice stay.

We have stayed at the Sea Watch for several years now, and for the past few years it has increasinly become very popular. The only thing that I did not like about it was that we were not allowed to put towels out at the pool until after 8 a.m. in the morning. They even had a security guard watching our every move to make sure that this was not done around the pool. This is the only hotel that I know of that does this in Myrtle Beach. I won't be staying there anymore.

Beautiful property. Would drive by from time to time when visiting the area,saying (That's a beautiful place, great location.) Greatly disappointed. They spend a lot of money decorating the lobby area. The rooms had warn, soiled furniture (smelled) really used. Changed rooms, second room not much better. Dengy Sheets,turned on wrong side coming off the mattress afraid to lOOk too close! Glad when the night was over so I could leave.

Our family really enjoyed our stay! Such a great place....beach is right beyond your room. So you have it all...shopping at nearby Tanger Outlet, beach, pools, Lazy River for the kids. Pool party Tuesday and Thurs for kids. A+++

Just like any hotel/resort in a tourist location, nothing will be perfect & I try not to focus on the "little stuff" (in my opinion) like some, but I had no complaints about our stay at Sea Watch. And I was quite nervous because this was my first time down here in many, many years and some of the reviews of the hotel made me wonder. But now, I read them with a grain of salt since some of the reviews I encountered were too "nitpicky", in my opinion. We rented our room through the hotel (so keep that in mind because the rooms might be different depending on if you go through the hotel or a rental agency or timeshare). The breakfast buffet was excellent. We didn't plan on eating dinner there, so the hours of the restaurant then was not that important. The housekeeping was excellent -- daily service. The hotel was very clean. We stayed the last week of August, 2004, so you still have alot of families staying there -- but it is just that: families. Plus, the rates are slightly cheaper, so if you can wait an extra week, it's worth it (we saved about $500 waiting a week). Great entertainment for the kids. Enjoyed the occasional drink at the poolside bar. (was slightly pricey, but it was expected. IN fact, alcohol in general at MB is not cheap). The location is excellent. Right on the beach. Plus, plenty of shopping and a WalMart Supercenter right down the street for groceries. The water amenities are excellent. Expect a wait at the front desk, depending on time of day and their staffing. But again, this was my ONLY issue here. IN reality, it's a "non-issue" to me. My wife and I plan on going back and always recommend this place to family and friends.

The atmosphere was great and everyone was friendly. The rooms were spacious and very clean. It was a great experience. We will be back next year.

We stayed in a 3 bedroom oceanfront in the South Tower. It was mediocre at best. The condo needed a really deep cleaning and many small repairs. I wouldn't sit on the sofa without putting a beach towel down. It just felt dirty. I cleaned the shower before using it! My brother stayed in a 3 bedroom unit in the North Tower the same week. His unit was very nicely decorated, very clean, and they're staying there again in 2010. I'm also staying again in 2010, but have changed units and owners. I rented through a personal owner on VRBO.com. The beach is beautiful, wonderful location, and pools are great. Definitely a family resort. If you're looking to party - forget it. Unless you're into Dora the Explorer or Elmo, you'll be sorely disappointed. So - just be very careful from whom you rent and you'll enjoy your stay. Also, don't think you need to pay for a direct oceanfront condo to have a great oceanfront room. You can save a lot of money and still have wonderful views by staying just one unit back from oceanfront.
