Not what I expected.
By ,
First thing I did was buy my own cleaner and wash walls and surfaces. No screens on windows or doors to enjoy the ocean air. Beds are horrible. Ocean view is great. Air conditioner broke twice, but repairs were done very fast. I would recommend looking somewhere else to stay.

Great Weekend Getaway
By ,
This hotel is at a perfect location for people coming from Charlotte. It is right at the end of 22. Close to the outlets and restaurants yet far enough away from the main strip. We stayed in a three bedroom 2 bath room with 7 people. It was perfect for all of us. Full kitchen so if you want to stay there more than a weekend you don't have to eat out for every meal. Awesome view of the beach. It looks like everyroom has a balcony that overlooks the beach. I've never seen so many pools, lazy rivers, and hot tubes for one hotel. All of this makes it one of the best hotels for families or a large group of people looking to relax.

Sea Watch is the best resort in Myrtle Beach
By ,
We have been going to SeaWatch for the last 7 years with the exception of one year in Panama City Beach. We love SeaWatch. It's a great family resort, and the location is in a great and convenient area. The staff have always been very friendly. Each condo is owned individually - some are time shares. They are individually decorated. The outside of the resort and pool areas, restaurant, lobby is beautiful. I'm confused by one of the previous reviews because both the North and South Towers have been totally re-painted. SeaWatch is always beautiful. It is true that the decor depends on which condo you get since they are individually owned. We usually rent directly through an owner through vrbo so that we can know which condo we are getting, the exact location of the condo, and what shape the condo is in, and we can see photos We have done it both ways, though, and have always been pleased. As far as the person who posted that Panama City Beach condos are nicer, I would say that the condos in Florida are usually larger, and are more like apartments than the hotel-like condos you find in Myrtle, but you will usually just have one pool out front, not all the pools, lazy rivers, and things to do that you have in Myrtle Beach. Myrtle Beach is much nicer than Panama City Beach - hands down. Myrtle Beach is the perfect vacation spot for families, and is easy to travel in, and seems like a family-friendly, safe area. We will not go back to Florida.

Not what we expected
By ,
For the price, we expected MUCH nicer accomodations. We have stayed at a REAL condo in Panama City Beach that was nicer than this for a better price over Memorial Day weekend. Overall, the property is not bad, but it surely isn't worth almost $300/night! Pros: Right on the beach, lots of pools, hot tubs, lazy river Cons: South tower needs refurbishing BADLY, paint is falling off walls on outside, rooms have low ceilings and are glorified hotel rooms (not what I would call a "condo"), service is slow--took 4 hours to get air conditioner fixed, tiki bar had bartender who had to use a bartender's guide to make drinks

I'll definately be back !!!! This place is great !! The deals off season are good, and the rates in the summer are not unreasonabe for the many pools, resturants, and actities they offer.

The location was terrific - if you enjoy walks on the beach. Far enough from the vacationing crowds , yet close enough to be right next to everything. The clubs and good food are minutes away from what I believe is the best Ocean view in Myrtle Beach. Good sand in front, nice staff, clean room and easy parking made this a dream trip come true. The Walmart, 5 minutes away, had almost everything. Together with Mikes Produce stand and some fresh shrimp, add a quick stop for beer, and we spent our vacation on the beach instead of looking for food. Good action is minutes away, or right there, depending on who you're with . I'll be back there asap !!! Bike week is awesome !

Many time visitor
By ,
This is the only hotel I have ever stayed at in Myrtle Beach. We've stayed at least 10 times over the past year or two. Sometimes they can be really good and sometimes fairly awful. One time, there was old, stinky food in the fridge, and kitchens that have plastered food on anything that isn't a prominent surface. Another, a giant ugly plastic storage unit inside of the bedroom that with a note saying, "Stay out- owner's property" written across the front of it in sharpie. Sometimes the sheets are dirty. On the same trip that the hot water heater wasn't working, (I was there the day before finals to try and get a break) the maid came by at 7 or 8am just POUNDING on the door. I told her "no later, please". Hopped back in bed, and 5 minutes later she did it again. Originally, this was one of the cheapest places to stay, that was ocean front and still nice. The first few times we stayed, we could do so for $70 a night, now they're marking up to around $150 a night. One of my best trips involved going during the busy season. Everything was clean and everyone was nice. Actually, I think, it's only when I go off season that we have problems. Maybe they don't keep enough staff then. The beds are hard, the rooms have a good layout and superb ocean view, there's free internet in the lobby, and the cafe has a pretty good breakfast buffet- with very peaceful setting, being ocean view. The parking garage is attached to the tower that we always stay in, so that is convenient. The kitchens all also come with dishes, cooking pans, utensils, ice makers, etc. For the kids: I THINK the water isn't chlorine based purification, so no stinging eyes. And, there is an indoor heated pool and hottub year round. What I love: There's this little pizza place called "Michael's (something)". They're listed in the local guide that's in every room. They are very close to the hotel and deliver until like 4am, only taking 20 minutes or so. Everything on their menu is delicious. You're also a block away from one of the Tanger Malls and a Walmart, so no worries if you forget to bring something. To the side of the property is a trailer park thing (park your trailer, stay at the beach), so sometimes you'll get people from there coming into use the pool area. At least, there's plenty of pools. Sadly though, the close pretty early (9pm?, although it various by season, too, I think), which is enforced by the meandering security guard. Anyways, this hotel is a middle of the line resort hotel. If you can get a good deal, it's definitely worth it. But, with their ever-increasing prices, we plan on staying somewhere else on our next trip.

Wonderful Wedding
By ,
We had our wedding on the beach at this resort in July 2007. The day turned out beautifully. We planned our wedding with the help of Mary Ann and Mike. They were absolutely amazing. We truly appreciated everything that they did for us. We had an unfortuate incident with a wedding chapel that caused us to almost not be able to have our wedding at this resort. We have been vacationing here for years and really wanted to married on their beach/property. This resort worked wonders (even closing the restaurant for our reception) to make our day happen. This is an excellent resort for all members of your family - from 1 year old to 90 years old! Everyone in our wedding party had a great time. We hope to make a reunion trip soon. Thanks Sea Watch Resort - you truly hold a special place in our family.

Part of our family tradition!
By ,
Sea Watch Resort has not only a fantastic view, friendly staff, nicely decorated rooms, great rates, but is EXTREMELY PRIVATE to top it all off. To the left of the hotel is a campground which is very clean and family-oriented and then to the right is a hotel but they are pretty spaced out! We usually get a Murphy Studio which is not a HUGE room (we like it b/c it feels very cozy and "family-like"), but has plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 small children. We will be making the trip to Myrtle Beach in about 2 1/2 months and can't wait....Sea Watch Resort has become a family tradition for my husband and I and our two boys!! Can't wait!!

First Time was a GREAT TIME
By ,
My first time at Sea Watch was for the 2007 Black Bike Week. We needed a place that would accommodate four people as well as welcome my Fiance' bike. Other resorts or hotels did not want the bike on their property or had NO bike parking at all! Sea Watch not only had parking but security for his bike,,which he just loved! The property, view, and the beach view was just beautiful. We received a special with our room rate which included free breakfast our entire stay there,,, which was GREAT! We were in the middle of everything and just minutes from SuperWalmart. The staff was GREAT with checkin, pool braclets for extra friends from other hotels, and keeping our room clean!!! My Fiance' and I will return in May for our HONEYMOON/Black Bike Week! We loved our first experience and it won't be our last experience with Sea Watch Resort! This year we invited friends to stay at Sea Watch for Bike Week also!! THANKS SEA WATCH FOR THE GREAT EXPERIENCE!!! SEE YOU ON MAY 21, 2008!!!!! The Newly Weds! (our wedding date is set for May 17, 2008)
