worst hotel I have ever stayed in

This is a 30 year old cheap hotel they slapped the Holiday Inn Express sign on. The rooms are dirty and falling apart. To give you some idea how old this piece of crap is the bathroom still had a beer bottle opener mounted in it! Twist tops made these obsolete 20 years ago. The bathroom ceiling finish was falling down. None of the electrical outlets in the room worked. This meant no lights, TV, fridge, or any way to charge up a cell phone. I called the desk twice but nothing happend. The only reason I stayed was it was late on a holiday weekend and other hotels where full. What a disappointment, I always like HIE, but if they are going to start pulling this crap then I am done with them!

Like: Convenient location Dislike: Dirty, Non-smoking room smelled heavily of cigarette smoke, very noisy air conditioner and refrigerator, both very old and in disrepair.

I didn't like it when the hotel billed my credit card for an extra $11.78 over 35 days after I stayed there. How fair is that?

Clerk not truthful and non professional

Ordered connecting rooms on phone, on arrival was told she did not have connecting available, I told her we did not want two seperate rooms, and we were not given what we ordered so we were not staying at her hotel, she rudely told me I was I had to pay a $35.00 fee and also called me a lair saying I didnot order connecting rooms. Very non professional, will never stay at this hotel again, would not recommend to anyone.

We liked it because even though they are remodling it there was no noise everything was quite and peacefull. We have stopped by there latley but not stayed and the remodle is looking very good.

I am still waiting to get Charge Card Credit

I do not like an additional night's stay charged to my Visa - only stayed 1 night at this hotel en route from Indiana to SC ... Adding to review written earlier from Anderson, IN .. Here it is late October, 2007 - still trying to get the 2nd night charge off of Visa - We only stayed 1 night 1st week in Aug 2007 ... Only get broken promises of return phone calls from manager ... Would not stay here again - apparently having some real manager problems.

Hotel was ok.

This Holiday Inn Express is a little older than most - arrived late hour with confirmation # - Requested King N/S room for Late Arrival - Prepaid w/Visa .. Room was not available upon arrivel but was offered a King Suite N/S for the same price - was satisfied with adjustment. Hotel is clean - just a little older - would stay at a newer Holiday Inn Expres next time - billed double on Visa Acct - Headaches created w/this Hotel reservation...Also had very noisy neighbors across the hall - during late late hours.

Unhappy!

We stayed at this Holiday Inn Express coming and going to Myrtle Beach. We had reservations via the internet. They honored the room rate of $79.95 quoted to us by the internet on our trip down. They charged us $101.00 on our trip back. We had the reciept from the reservation made online and they still would not honor it. We left without signing the credit card slip, at their request and they would contact the main office and then call us. No, they never called......and the full charge was made to our credit card.......we then called them and they said they would make a credit to the credit card company. It is now 3 weeks later and we are still trying to get the credit! What a fiasco~! They have lost a good Holiday Inn patron all over $67.00....was it worth it? I think not. Daniel E.
