Why not try one of the other nearby hotels instead
The room was OK. This hotel's main problem was being clean. As soon as we entered the hall to the elevator and the elevator, we noticed that the carpeting was not really clean. The edges of the carpeting (against the walls) looked like they were never cleaned. It was like this for the four days we stayed there and probably still is this way. The pool area cleanliness was what really bothered me. The pool water was OK but not crystal clear. The pool deck was really bad and stayed that way the whole time we were there. Dirt, hairs, lint, garbage, bandages all around the pool. I personally picked up used bandages and put them in the garbage the first time there so they were removed from area. The picnic table just outside of the pool area had a large beer can on it and an empty cigarette pack on the picnic table. I informed the front desk to make sure the area was cleaned thoroughly the next time it was cleaned.
The next morning, I see the manager and two others sitting at a table in the pool area. I expected that they would have seen the area and made sure it was cleaned up. It was not cleaned up by that night and wasn't cleaned up on the day we left. The beer can and the empty cigarette pack were removed from the picnic table over the next two days (the beer can the first day--the cigarette pack the second day) by the high winds that came through the area. The floor was never cleaned. The manager did not want to make sure her hotel was clean. Two young women who acted as evening front desk clerks were very helpful with directions and seemed to want to fix problems when reported to them. One day no replacement soap or shampoo was put in our room and they took care of it right away.
There were a Homewood Suites, Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn Express and Suites, and others were nearby. Try them instead of this Comfort Suites which was probably the worst Comfort Suites I've been in. The best was the one in Rapid City, SD--a Platinum award hotel.
