I wouldn't stay here again
By golfgrll, 6/28/10
The front desk wasn't friendly. There was a mouse running from under the bed to under the dishwasher. I wouldn't stay here again.

Great stay outside Baltimore and D.C.
By WhiteSoxGal32, 6/22/10
I wonder if the staff a majority of these reviews experienced are gone because this was the 2nd Candlewood my fiance and myself stayed on during a road trip and it was a very pleasant experience. I was honestly nervous based on what previous customers have written, especially with my high standards of hotel cleanliness (I bring cleaning products and rubber gloves with me to every hotel I stay at...just in case), but our room was clean (except for a slight smell we couldn't figure out but it was nothing a little spray of febreeze couldn't fix), the bathroom and kitchenette were both clean, and everything in our room looks light it was recently remodeled. The front desk was welcoming when we checked in. Also, the battery in our smoke alarm was beeping and we just asked for a battery and they not only got us one but offered to switch it for us...we of course did it ourselves, but that was a kind gesture. Everything about this hotel was clean and in a hotel "belt" neighborhood, nothing but other hotels and dining...so I don't see what could be ''dangerous'' about the area. I mean I don't recommend just walking around at night because it is right by the airport but there are no sketchy people walking the sidewalks and the parking lot is well-lit. I recommend this location to anyone who wants to experience D.C. and/or Baltimore because it's very easy to access both (just hop on 295 S to Greenbelt and take the Metro in to D.C.) and Baltimore, even though we didn't visit it was a close drive.

No Respect From Management!!
By Caia, 1/27/10
I was looking for a place to stay for an extended period of time while I was looking for a home in the area. I tried just one day to start with here to see if i liked it. it seemed nice even though there was some kind of mix up with the reservation. I thought nothing of it. As my stay continued however, I had several go-arounds with the management. If I hadn't had all my belongings in there, I would have left. First was when I inquired about their pet policy. I took the paperwork to read through it and told them I would let them know. After realizing the pet fee of $150 was not a deposit and would not be refunded, I chose not keep my new puppy with me. He is a Basset Hound and it also said after 2 complaints the pet would have to leave and the fee would not be refunded. I decided with him being so young this was a chance I didn't want to take. No big deal. That is until my boyfriends card was charged the pet fee. After he signed the paperwork saying only my room fee and taxes were to be charged to his card. When I asked about it they said since we brought the dog to the room, for all of 3 hours the room still had to be pet cleaned and therefore i still needed to pay the fee. I insisted on them reducing it to the $75 fee for pets staying less than 7 days. They agreed but would not refund the other $75 until I gave them $100 in cash for deposit for amenities. (had never been asked to pay that at all previously) I was also told that if I brought the dog back, I would be charged another $150 for the pet fee. Then they started taking the weekly fee out before the week was up, or waiting a couple weeks and taking it all out at once. Even though they claimed it was all done automatically and they had no control over it. This completely messed up my boyfriends bank account. I then had been there for over 30 consecutive days and began paying cash for my stay every day or so. This was a huge mistake. At one point (after being there for 3 months) I admit I had been sick and was a few days behind but had just given them $300 and was due to be checking out the next day so all would be caught up anyway. An hour after I paid the $300 I got a call from the manager insisting I bring the remainder to her right away, I told her I still wasn't feeling well but I would get it to her. She said it had to be paid that day and I said OK. Three hours later I was in the bathroom with a very upset stomach when the hotel phone started ringing like crazy. Then someone started beating on my door. Next thing I know...my door opens and the same manager comes into my room. She proceeds to carry in a conversation with me while I am having diarrhea demanding for me to give her a time I will be going to the bank to get the remainder of the money! IN MY ROOM WHILE I WAS ON THE TOILET!! I suppose if you are here with the government and don't need ot really deal with the front desk at all this is a nice hotel. But for an individual BEWARE!! I really don't think they want you there anyway!! At least that is how you get treated.

Better Candlewood Suites out there.
By Bill, 10/22/09
We're usually very pleased with Candlewood Suites. However, we were very unhappy with the customer service of this location. The front desk attendant we had was quite rude and gave us false information regarding the reservation. I'd suggest going to a different Candlewood - we did!

Awful Customer Service
By La Trece, 2/9/08
This hotel overcharges, actually double charged for my stay. I stayed at this hotel around the end of December. It is now February and I still have not received my refund for the double billing. We paid cash when we arrived at the hotel but they still charged my credit card on the second day of our vacation. Dont even try to contact them directly the only response i got was - sorry there is nothing we can do about it. Customer services is horrible from the property to the corporate level. Beware of extra charges.

Will always stay here when in Baltimore,,,,
By Joyce R, 11/25/06
We were coming to Baltimore for Thanksgiving and this was our first trip to this city. We found this place on Yahoo travel. Was a very nice place to stay. Very near the airport, yet only heard two planes the entire time we were in our room. Kitchen in room saved us a bundle on meals. Staff was tripping over themselves to make sure we were satisfied. Wed. night they had a buffet dinner (free) for hotel guests in honor of Thanksgiving (saved us more $$). Booking on internet saved us $40 a night...would only stay here if I visit Baltimore again. We travel alot, this was a pleasant experience....
