Clean but dull
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/3/07
We stayed at the Hampton Inn in March 2007 for 4 days. The hotel was clean, but a bit shabby. It is currently being renovated, and needs it. They were very considerate and the work on renovations did not disrupt our stay.
The beds were not as good as I have had at other Hilton chain hotels, being a bit hard. However they do use the special linens, which means it is all cleaned between guests (no dirty old comforters) which is a great plus. The staff were friendly, especially the ones there in the early morning hours.
I was very disappointed to learn they would not honor my HHilton account for the stay because I had paid via Expedia. That seemed like a bit of a cheap shot and was never told to me prior to the visit. I could have just as easily booked it directly and paid the same rate. Seems petty and just a way to avoid letting members earn points.
The breakfast buffet was pretty lousy. If you are ok with bagels, muffins, cereal or juice you will be ok. Don't expect much quality from the hot items. I recently stayed in the Hampton in Arlington and there is no comparison in the quality. They may be both rated the same but the Arlington one was miles ahead of this Hampton.
Coffee in the lobby at all hours was great and cookies in the evening was a nice touch and I appreciated the hotel having free wireless internet access in rooms.
Overall this is a basic choice that would work if you are looking for a clean and basic place to stay but I would not return.
