A solid choice for travelers
What I liked:
1) Location: Business travelers are a three minute drive from Apple, Symantec, City Center Plaza and a Target Store. From this hotel you can easily walk to a strip mall with 8 different Cantonese/Korean/Japanese restaurants and an Irish pub for a pint of brewski.
1) The Hilton Garden Inn lobby is nicely designed with plenty of seating to meet co-workers. The front desk staff were friendly and informed.
2) The king size beds are comfortable, on par with Marriott Courtyard (located 20 feet away), but not as comfortable as beds at a Westin or Marriott. Housekeeping was fine. Rooms are relatively quiet.
3) The Garden Inn now offers toiletries and snacks for sale in a display next to to the front desk accessible 24/7, the front desk will ring you up. Breakfast looked fine. There's an Original Panckake House a 6 minute drive south on DeAnza as an alternative.
4) Parking is easy, but if you stay here when it is raining, note that unlike the Cypress Hotel, the Hilton Garden Inn parking is uncovered.
What I disliked: The fitness center is very small for hotels in this price range. It contained only a stairmaster and a bike machine, one of which needed maintenance. Dumbells & weight bench...no nautilus machines. The center looks out onto the outdoor pool and hotub.
Overall: A better value and better service than the Cypress Hotel. Comparable to the adjacent Marriott Courtyard (I've stayed at all 3).
