Think twice!
By customer, 7/5/10
From the pictures and reviews, we thought we'd discovered a quaint getaway at a fantastic value, but it was a disaster! Service at check-in nice enough, but once we got to the room we soon noticed small insects...apparently due to scraps of food in the carpet. After a bit we decided we couldn't stay, and went back to the front desk to check out and request a refund. The manager disputed our claim, and with an ever-increasing language barrier implied that may wife and I had used the motel for quick copulation, refusing to refund the full amount. After 20min of arguing, we simply left. Not recommended at all--unless there's nothing else available and you sleep on top of the beds in your own sleeping bag. Weird furnishings and construction--gives the impression of what was a cute place 5 years ago, now inhabited by aliens.

Wonderful and Quaint!
By Elinore, 8/18/07
We stopped at Granny's Inn on our way back from a week long motorcycle trip to WV and needed a one night stay over before finishing our road trip to the Hudson Valley, NY. Our overnight stays usually consisted of Days Inn, some good and some not so good. Granny's Inn was wonderful! Vic, the owner, did everything in his power to make sure we had a comfortable stay. I needed a hairdryer and he handed me a zebra striped powerhouse of a hairdryer! We didn't want to ride out again to buy a six pack so Vic sold us one at regular cost. We ate dinner and breakfast at the restaurant and the food was excellent PA Dutch cooking. We took a ton of pictures of the restaurant, so very quaint and welcoming. The rooms were nice, old fashioned furniture and pictures of grannies on the walls with pretty country look curtains on the windows. The A/C worked great. The bed was comfy and the shower pressure was powerful, not like the usual mist of a shower you get in motels. The waitress told us what meals were the highlights of the day and what desserts were baked on premises. Everyone is easy going and very friendly. I would return in a heartbeat. There is no internet connection and bring your own shampoo (and hairdryer). They are currently painting rooms, our bedroom was freshly painted but the bathroom wasn't as yet. This is NOT your usual Days Inn, and we really enjoyed that!

perfect positioning
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/14/06
we were looking for a positioning to drive into newark to drop the car at the p-6 long term lot and go into nyc. we found it...liked the motel, the people, the restaurant.(the owners mothers funeral was that weekend) we will do it again should we drive to the city....we had come up from uniontown and falling water, the FLLW house.
