Great stay! We will return!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/7/11
This is a great hotel. I just stayed there with my boyfriend because it was the best value in the town (50$ a night instead of $100 like all the other hotels in Blacksburg) and we had a wonderful stay. The owners (a husband and wife) are incredibly nice. We left a pair of Birkenstocks in the room accidentally, and they shipped them to us. I don't think you could find a nicer set of hotel owners ANYWHERE. The hotel itself was also nice. The room was big, there was a nice fridge and a really nice microwave. Everything was clean and the a/c was great. The internet speed is very quick (better than what I have at home even, my boyfriend had no problem running an mmo game on it even). We will definitely stay again, and recommend this hotel to everyone.

Best Value in Blacksburg!
By PGV, 10/19/10
This is a great place to stay if you're simply looking for a hotel to sleep, shower and change. We have season tickets to Virginia Tech Football Games and always stay here. The owner and his wife are very nice, the rooms are always clean, and, unlike most all hotels in Blacksburg, you can actually walk to downtown; it's about a mile. If you're not up to it, the South Main Street bus stops just at the corner. It has the basics, TV, WiFi, a microwave, a mini-fridge, and coffee every morning in the lobby. There's also a new shopping center across the street, with restaurants and different types of shops. Red Carpet Inn is not the most up-to-date or fanciest hotel in Blacksburg, but you can't beat the price. Most all other hotels are double!

Never Stay Here
By Max Saperstone, 4/19/10
We stayed at the Red Carpet Inn in Blacksburg, as all of the other Hotels in the area were completely booked. It looks a little shady, but I figured, I've stayed in worse. We checked in, the afternoon, dropped our stuff off, and enjoyed the town. Upon returning to our room in the evening, we got ready for bed, but within 10 minutes my fiance's throat closed up due to some sort of reaction in the room (she has NO known allergies). We notified the manager/owner that we had to leave due to this, and were refused a refund. They claimed because we used the bathroom (to brush our teeth), they had to clean the room, and couldn't offer us any sort of refund for the night. We were eventually begrudgingly refunded the second night, but only after being told there must be something wrong with us if we couldn't breath in the room. After almost suffocating, having to find another place to stay at 3am, and then being told we are trying to steal from them, I would strongly recommend to avoid this hotel at all costs

Book with caution
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/7/05
Property is old and not well maintained, but reasonably clean. Staff inefficienct and uncooperative. OK if you know your way around town and just need a place to sleep.

Cheap but OK
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/26/05
It is a generally clean hotel with little amenities. We chose it because it's close to Virginia Tech campus and it's cheap. We didn't expect much of a service and it sure did not offer much. The staff was sick and coughing when we checked in. The room is ok, the most annoying thing is the air conditioner. It was very loud and the switch did not work. It got so hot in the middle of the night that I had to get up and turn it off. Of course, it got really cold in the morning. There's only soup in the bathroom. If you are looking for a one-night cheap stay close to VT, this is the only game in town.
