I liked it, but with a few exceptions
By RB, 07/16/08
The rooms were really nice and the hotel was updated in a contemporary style. Love the flat screens in room. The staff was pleasant. A few problems though.....within 3 minutes of walking into our room I spotted 2 roaches, which was a little bit of a turn off. Next, the elevator situatuion needs to be fixed immediately. Only one worked, and it was as slow as molasses. You hit the floor number, and it takes 15 seconds to actually start moving. Very frustrating!!! going up or down takes forever. They should have at least told us about it. I didn't understand why they hadn't fixed the other elevator. Another thing, I paid $129 a night. It goes for $89 on the internet. I also just looked at my checking account and saw that they charged me for 2 nights. Got to call them now.......

Best hotel experience ever!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/28/08
A group of about forty met here for a conference in May 2008. We had met here the year before when it was under different management/name. This Hyatt had undergone major renovation, not only in its style and physical characteristics, but also in its staff. Maybe it was due to the newness of it all, but EVERY person on staff we met from maids to managers was very helpful, friendly and caring. They went above and beyond as far as I am concerned; providing shuttle service to and from Dallas/Ft. Worth airport, a couple of us who needed to go to Walmart (which "just down the road" turned out to be a few miles), taking a group of us stragglers who had stayed an extra night out to a restaurant and picking us up later. The area around it doesn't look the prettiest, but I felt very safe. The amount of staff was not skimpy in the least. It is close to the Six Flags, baseball stadium, the new under construction football stadium, many restaurants and I'm sure much more. We weren't there for sight seeing after all. I slept better than at home, the bed was so comfy with a ton of pillows provided. BIG tv in each room, not some dinky little thing. I just hope this high standard they have set for themselves holds up to the long haul, because we plan on meeting there again next year. Please, guys, get the air conditioning fixed in the lobby. It was malfunctioning at the time of our visit. But that was 'no biggie' as far as I am concerned. After all, there HAD to be something that would keep this place from being perfect. Oh, and the expanded food menu was fresh, yummy and generous portions. A little pricey, but that's to be expected in a hotel. Actually it wasn't any more than if we had gone out to breakfast, etc. The 'free' breakfast items were the usual, but all food was served on real dishes with real flatware. Several choices of coffee plus juices, milk, and several variety of good teas. I just prefer a hot breakfast. Eating area was super clean and super stocked. And...there is a small bar in the lobby if you prefer a cold beer or drink later in the day or a more exotic coffee as latte, etc. And...I could check my email on one of two computers. And...I needed to send a fax for which there was no fee. And...the day the last of the group checked out they stashed our luggage for us while we trekked off for a leisurely lunch down the road. Service after the fact, no less. This is a bunch that one and all worked hard to make us comfortable and happy. One note: Dallas, Texas in May can get VERY warm!

Good place to stay
By Jayanth, 05/19/08
Staff are friendly, 42 inch LCD TV is great, room is clean. Restroom is very small and elevator is very slow (like in hospital). I spent three weeks here.

Superb Stay!
By BigOrangeCrush865, 02/29/08
I loved this place, and the new 42" tvs they have in their rooms, very modern, made for a fun stay. Staff was very helpful and friendly. I would definately stay again and recommend this location for anybody looking to stay just outside the city of Dallas, conveinent to the entire metroplex.

I WILL be back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/12/07
One of the nicest places to stay for the money in the entire area! Anyone who couldn’t be happy here couldn’t be happy anywhere! The room was clean and well cared for and the staff was always ready to assist with a smile. I will stay here anytime I am in town. Thanks guys!

everyone was very helpful and understanding
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/03/06
The staff at Amerisuites were very helpful and understanding when high school cheerleaders from Louisiana stayed there for two nights. We didn't have anyone complan about how much noise they might have may during our stay. Housekeeping did their best to keep the rooms clean. Also when it was time for breakfast they made sure that everyone had enough to eat. In fact we love the hotel so much and they enjoy us staying there. We will be back to stay with them next month for another competion the cheerleaders will be in.

Lousy housekeeping & bad local.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/29/05
This is one of the worst hotels I’ve ever had the misfortune of staying at. Housekeeping at this establishment is simply the laziest group of people to converge in Texas. They may make the bed, but that’s about it. Expect to find the bathroom dirty, and without toilet paper or the dirty towels changed. I called management twice to get housekeeping to clean the bathroom and remove the dirty towels and glasses, but that proved to be an effort in futility. This hotel is filled with the refugees from the hurricane disasters of the Gulf coast, so expect to find people just hanging around the hotel doing nothing (which one has to consider their personal safety at night around this hotel). Do yourself a favor and avoid the free breakfast buffet (unless eating tasteless food and watered-down juice if your idea of breakfast, then you’ll love the food). This should be a hotel for those who don’t mind lowering their standards and do not expect any level of service.

Fantastic getaway!
By rolando, 04/28/05
My two toddlers and I were looking for a "mini-vacation".The Amerisuites,Grand Prairie, was it.My kids loved that there was,"A kitchen, living room, bedroom, and bathroom."They had a blast.I was able to keep some soft drinks and snacks in the fridge they provided.I was amazed at the number of cable channels they offered for free. They even had Disney for the kids.We loved this hotel so much, that we stayed there again the next week!!
