Description

The Clontarf Castle Hotel is situated only two miles from Dublin*s City Center and five miles from the airport. While offering centrality, the coastal location allows easy access to a variety of water sports, historical houses, nature reserves, and several challenging golf courses. For those traveling on business, the proximity to Eastpoint Business Park make this place an ideal location for corporate visit to Ireland. Fahrenheit Grill, regarded as one of Dublin*s finest restaurants is the perfect setting for a business lunch or quiet dinner, specializing in dry aged beef and seafood. Courtesy transportation to the business park is available twice each morning. While the hotel was first built as part of a line of defence sites protecting Dublin, today it has been magnificently transformed to accommodate with 111 deluxe bedrooms, conference and banqueting facilities for up to 500 guests, a superb restaurant, and two bars. The Knights Bar offers quality food in a Tudor style setting, the Indigo Lounge is an uber-chic bar that will rival the city*s top night spots, lavishly decorated with rich color, oversized sofas, and chandeliers, the opulent lounge radiates elegance. The deluxe en-suites are sympathetically designed to retain the castle feel and are complete with pillow top mattresses, 28 inch LCD screen televisions, CISCO IP telephone systems with direct-dial access, broadband Internet access, laptop friendly safes, individually controlled air conditioning and climate control, mini-bars, garment press, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryers, and U.S and European electrical sockets. Four posted bedrooms are available in some of the suites.

Review of our stay in Clontarf Castle
By ,
Having recently spent 4 nights with four friends at Clontarf Castle I could not speak high enough of our stay. The rooms were very comfortable the breakfast wonderful and the staff attentive. A very special thank you to to Graham manager and Eric the concierge , Eric helped me organize my trip i.e getting theatre tickets , reservation's for dinner getting taxi's etc, much of this happened before I left the States . Graham was very attentive with other details. and did everything He could to make sure our stay was wonderful. Both employee's went way above the call of duty to take care of our needs. I will have no reservations recommending Clontarf Castle. Nuala Browne

Fantastic Hotel
By ,
Beautiful hotel; the staff was wonderful, very helpful; the rooms were great and the beds were so very comfortable. Lovely area to walk around and easy to find locations in Dublin. We are from America but will definitely stay there again.

WONDERFUL HOTEL
By ,
My husband and I absolutely loved this hotel and plan to stay again on our next trip. Not only were the rooms clean and staff friendly but they have the best breakfast buffet I've ever had. I can't wait to visit again!

Best out of all 7 hotels we stayed in on this trip!
By ,
I loved the fact that everything was clean. This was a first on our whole tour this time. The only comments or suggestions I would have is that the wait staff needs to be better versed in English, after all, they are working in a country that uses a fair amount, and having Russian or other wait people definately affected our ability to order food smoothly. Also, the only reason I gave this a 4 out of 5 on three categories is because the service suffered because of the language barrier, the cleanliness was the best out of 7 (I might add, of which 6 were despicable) with the exception of the dust on the ceiling fixture in our room. The location I am only rating because we were on a bus tour and only (unfortunately)saw it in the evening, and again, early in the morning on our way out to the airport to return home....never got a chance to venture out!! and the Value, I can't honestly rate because the trip was booked through a package deal and I have no idea what the regular room rates were! After bringing my mother to Ireland for the first time to celebrate her 80th birthday, I was quite dissapointed in ALL the other hotels the tour group had us in. Believe me, the wildlife is a problem in a lot of other places...not here though! By wildlife, I mean the more unpleasant insect and ratus type. They no longer have smoking rooms, and the entire hotel was renovated in 1998 with updated fixtures (make it a point to check out the red crystal chandeliers). All in all, after many trips to Ireland, if I had to stay in a public hotel, rather than the private accomodations I have been lucky enough to experience in the past, this would definately be the place I would rebook.

Best hotel in Dublin
By ,
This hotel is a real gem! One of the most friendly hotels we've ever stayed in. Food is excellent, style of hotel is cool and trendy with this wonderful 11th century backdrop. Grill had amazing steaks. Lively local pub. Nice walks. on bus and train route to city centre that takes just a few minutes. We're going back!!
