promo a plus
By Phillie Born, 9/29/10
My husband and I stayed at the Main Street Station on a Promo 3 night 2 day stay. I have to say this place is BEAUTIFUL. I love the room it was wonderful one of the best we've stayed in while visiting Las Vegas. The staff and the Buffet was outstanding. I would recommend The Main Street Station Hotel and Buffet to friends. My mother lives in Las Vegas, but she'd never been in Main Street Station. When she walked into the room she was shocked at how beautiful it was. We stay in downtown because of the prices, but now we will stay because Main Street Station Hotel is a CLASSY HOTEL......

We'll be staying here for a long time
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/7/09
My wife and I have been going to Vegas 5-6 times a year since we retired 6 years ago. We've seen all the hoopla and fancy hotels on the strip so we were looking for something with a little more value. Sure we could stay at Wynn or Bellagio but our annual trips would be reduced to 3-4 trips rather than 5-6. The MSS offers nice clean rooms, good food and great service. If we need a change of scenery, we simply walk through the enclosed walkway to The Cal and it The Cal doesn't do it, The Las Vegas Club and Binyon's is right across the street. Of course a walk through either of those two casinos puts you right on Freemont St.. MSS offers 20x odds on craps thus giving them the best crap game in Las Vegas, hands down .. Period! Excellent crap dealers as the card game dealers all have been very pleasant. We don't play machines but there seems to be plenty to offer. The food is great at the 777 restaurant, sushi was delicious and the $7.95 is a very pleasant surprise (tender and favorable). The buffet is fine and offers quite a lot and well worth the small price. Don't go to the buffet and expect something similar to a high end hotel when you're paying $7.95 for lunch. A short walk to The Cal to the Pasta Pirate is worth the walk. The Pasta Pirate is one of the best values in town, Steak & lobster for $17.95 is very good and includes salad, potato and a glass of wine. You will encounter lots of Hawaiians at both The Cal and MSS, we find that they're fun people. Some of those Hawaiians can roll dice like it's nobodies business. The only down side to MSS is the comp system. They don't have a system like hotels on the strip where you charge meals to the room and are comped depending on your play upon departure. They require getting a written comp from the pit crew. The written comps are generous but seem to be a little time consuming. Bottom line; MSS is a great place for the money. Don't have Caesar's Palace expectations when you're checking in on a Holiday Inn price tag and you won't be disappointed.

Best Casino in Vegas
By James, 9/26/08
Good beer, awesome buffet, friendly staff, good comps... Main Street is my favorite casino in Vegas. I live within a mile of Red Rock Casino, but I prefer going to Main Street which is like a 20 minutes drive away!

Hidden treasure for sure...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/1/08
The rooms are very spacious. This is the first hotel that had the beds made perfect for hotel guests! By that I mean, instead of a bedspread that hasn't been washed in who-knows-when, and may be stained with who-knows what, they had a fancy sheet on top of an off-white clean, expensive-looking feather/down blanket. And of course, a regular flat sheet underneath it. As a practice, which ever hotel I stay in, I always ask housekeeping for an extra flat sheet so I can put on top of the bed; either for sitting, or to lay down for a nap or to watch tv. Here, they understand that bedspreads are not always clean or sanitary, and have the rooms look clean and inviting. Their beds are also very comfortable, the best I've ever encountered in any hotel/motel.! This is my new "best rest money can buy" in Las Vagas and will be staying here from now on! Their hotel star rating is very decieving, which makes it a great little secret for those who reads this.

Love it here!!!
By Alan, 3/2/08
The rooms we have stayed in were always very clean, and everything worked(sinks, toilet, air condition, TV ect.) It is a little off the main beat, but still close to the other casinos, and attractions downtown. If you like going to the strip you can hop on a bus (the "duece" $5.00 all day) which is within walking distance to the bus terminal. We stay there every year. I don't know where else you can stay for such reasonable prices and the food is great too. If you drive to Las Vegas, the hotel is located close to the free way.

Always our first choice!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/18/08
We usually visit Las Vegas 2 - 3 times a year. When we do, we always try to stay at Main Street Station. The rooms are a good size, clean and with amenities such as usage of a "free" safe, hairdryer (one less thing to bring) and current movies. It's easy access to the California Hotel and the rest of downtown. The restaurants are great! You have a choice of a buffet, brew pub or steak house. Dealers are friendly and with a great variety of machines, you'll never be bored!

We will be back
We didn't stay in the hotel, stayed in the R.V. Park. We found it to be clean, secure and surprisingly little noise! Rates were exceptional, close everything a holiday traveller could wish for. We did spend a lot of time in the Main Street Station, both for our meals and our slot play ( our donations) we found the casino and restaurants very clean, staff friendly and the food was great! We will be back ( and hopefully recover some of our losses) Agreat place to stay, Thank You

The room was big, soft and comfortable. Close to Main highway for access. Many other casino are very close by. Excellent eating establishments. Ice was easy to get on your own anytime of the day or night.
