Best in St.Augustine!!!!!!
By Tammy, 11/11/09
The hotel is non-smoking......Beautiful..right off interstate and worth the 15min. drive to downtown St.Augustine..... My daughter and I will be returning this Thanksgiving for some "Winter Wonderland fun"I have checked out hotels in the area of Anastasia island, however NO hotels compare.... I have to say that I felt very safe @ renaissance resort and being a "germ freak" I had nothing to complain about.... i also have to say that the staff was very well trained and helpful.....We will always stay @ this resort...... Thanks..keep up the great job!!!!! S.Florida mom:)

Only for golf fanatics to lazy to drive!
By bear26489, 03/15/09
Just did not like it, it was cold, fake, plastic, and not just the unfriendly staff. It’s a long drive thru the property that puts you right back at the interstate, view of the highway for $$$, the beds are bad, was there a restaurant not that we noticed.

A one star hotel with pretentions.
By Jennifer P, 03/15/09
This is not a resort, it’s a hotel, and a poor one at that. Noisy, unhelpful staff, horrible beds (but lots of pillows, I guess if you slept on top of the pillows…) bathroom was nice, bedroom was small. (I wonder how many of the good reviews are from hotel employees?)

Not Worth the Money
By Magic Matt, 03/15/09
This was a pretty bad experience, for $159 we expected a bit more for our money. The bed was very hard, the room door had a huge gap on the bottom so you could hear all the noise (and there was a lot way past midnight), the view was of a group of giant commercial air conditioners, furnishings were about what you would expect for a 2 star resort. My wife hated the place which is not like her at all, this place was not worth half the price.

The Best
By AlexL, 06/16/08
This is my 4th time visiting the St. Augustine Area. It's my first at the Resort. Walking into the hotel was mind blowing. It was a very beautiful hotel. It reminded me a lot of Embassy Suites hotels. We checked in and the guy at the desk upgraded all (3) rooms to balconies for free! The rooms were beautiful. Very spacious compared to other hotels. The bathroom was gourgous. The flat screen tv's were prettty cool! It's the first hotel I've been that has them. The iPod Dock is actually pretty useful. The pool is an average pool. We decided to go to the Serenata Beach Club instead. GOOD LORD THAT PLACE WAS BEAUTIFUL! I will never forget this stay! I plan on returning for the 4th of July. Can't wait!!!!

Loved every minute!
By Maaike, 04/25/07
We had a fantastic experience from start to finish. We were greeted by a friendly bell man from Gary, IN who filled us in on all kinds of things to do and places to go. Our room was beautiful, spacious, and ultra comfortable. We were on the ninth floor looking out over the lake- beautiful view of the complex including the Hall of Fame. The service was excellent. Every request was met or exceeded. Staff was very friendly and polite. We chose to stay here for our trip to St Augustine even though it's a 20-30 minute drive away because of the value, comfort, and service.

Renaissance staff are not flexible
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/04/05
We just returned from a five night stay at the Renaissance Hotel at the WGV, The golf academy was great, the King and Bear is an outstanding course, and the Slammer and the Squire is no slouch either. Golf was great, Renaissance Hotel was just ok. We spent almost two thousand dollars over a five day period and when we requested a late check out so we could complete our round of golf at the Slammer and Squire, we were given an extra thirty minutes. This is a golf resort, I expected them to be a little more accomodating to someone playing golf at there course. They were not accomodating at all. As a result we had to quit playing after 15 holes to get back to the hotel to check out in time. I would recommend any one interested in visiting the area should stay at the comfort inn across the interstate. Cheaper prices, and staff that have to be more understanding than the Renaissance Management.

A Disappointing Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/08/05
When we booked the resort we were not advised from Renaissance that there was a Resort Fee which covered a number of services. When we checked out I asked about the fee and we were given a card explaing what services were included. If we were given this card at arrival we would have used the Internet and some of the other services. The Renaissance web site does not mentioned this fee. Service in the dining room at breakfast was non-existant. Two wait staff and the hostess were the only ones waiting on a full dining room. Extremely poor for a place such as this resort.I plan on reporting these same comments directly to the resort.
