Homestead Suites Jacksonville - Baymeadows, Jacksonville

I absolutely enjoyed my stay at Homestead Studio Suites. My group of five went down for GA/FLA weekend. A few days before the trip the Salisbury road location called to say that they were moving us an exit up to the Western Way location. They lowered our rate for the inconvienance. When we checked in, the hotel had the wrong room reserved for us. It was a room with one bed, so the night Manager immediately switched us to a room with two beds and we made due until the morning, when the Manager told us that we would be able to speak with someone about getting the correct room. The next morning the front desk gave us an additional room next to our room for the trouble so, that they could accomodate all five of us. She did not ask any questions, no fuss, no muss! The staff was EXTREMELY friendly. They were patient and worked with us on splitting up the cost of the room between the five of us. One front desk worker in specifc, recommended the best cabs, restaurants, and bars to go to. The rooms were VERY clean, my only complaint was that we didn't have any dish soap to wash the dishes. The maid staff assured us that they would take care of it upon checking out and told us not to worry about it. Besides, we weren't too worried about washing dishes on the weekend of GA/FLA. We ate out most of the time anyway. The location was convenient, and close to restaurants, shopping centers galore, and the mall. I enjoyed my stay at Homestead Studio Suites, and I will be staying there again when I return next year for Georgia/Florida! They made the stay easy, with no hassle, and the trip was truly memorable!

We arrived late at night and went to our room. There was garbage in the can under the sink and a pair of jeans that had been left behind. I called the desk and she told me she would take care of it, which she did. The bed was horrible and the room had a musty odor, this odor was also in the halls. It may be the carpets are due for cleaning or replacing, but there is a problem with an odor throughout the hotel. We requested non smoking but noticed a burn mark on the bed spread, but that could have come from a smoking room after cleaning. We had made reservations for seven nights, but immediately went to find better accomodations the next morning. One night was all my wife and I could handle and we checked out and found better quality lodging nearby. I had never stayed at any Homestead Suites before, and this one may be the exception, but in any case this one is not a recommended stay for anyone.
