Quality Inn Alexandria, Alexandria

Rooms are clean, beds comfortable, a/c cold & water is hot. Staff friendly & helpful. Enjoyable breakfast. Will stay again if in this area. This is 2nd QI we've stayed in, in 2 days will stay in QI again. Pool small.

1. When I got there, tired from an 8 hour drive, there was no one at the front desk. I range the bell, called the phone from the vesitbule, and beat on the employee's only door. About 10 minutes passed and the front desk clerk walked in with a styrofoam box of food with no apologies about not being here. I was floored. 2. Apparently I left a prescripion in my room (121) and when I got back home I had to call 3 separate times to get any one to help me locate it. Everone says "Call Sonya" but no one tells me that she is hardly ever there. 3. The room was clean and cheap which is all I needed, but the service was so bad I would never consider staying there again.

We had reserved a suite & had been told the suites were 2 rooms w/door separating rooms. Wrong... their definition of a suite is one large room, not even a partial dividing partition! Room had mini-refrig plus micro-wave as did the regular rooms. Towels were threadbare and ragged. Only 2 styrofoam cups in room.. cups ripped easily when opening the plastic covering. Bathroom is tiny.... door to bathroom cleared toilet by only 1 inch! Continental breakfast was POOR... almost nothing available even 30 minutes prior to posted breakfast closing. Front desk supervisor tried to overcharge me... saying I had a suite and had to pay the higher rate... I pointed out my guaranteed reservation via internet PLUS what I signed upon check-in. He still argued but finally gave me the correct rate. Front desk supervisor was practically rude! This Quality Inn doesn't know what quality is... certainly is no comparison with other Quality Inn's and doesn't even compare favorably with the Best Western nearby that DOES have a building with 2 room suites!
