Bradley Hotel, Windsor Locks

I was there the first week of July and the first weekend of August 2011. If you're looking for a place to sleep this is a great deal. The outside was crummy but the inside lobby and rooms were nice. There was no elevator and the walk to the rooms was long the carpet not so clean, the place could use some rennovating. The pool was worth the stay as well as the breakfast. Would I stay again (I DID) Unlike the first time I was very disapointed. After having been away from my room all day 9;30am - 5;30pm upon my return I found my room hadn't been cleaned. The male staff at the front desk as much as told me to make my own bed and stop complanting. He was very rude and not at all apologetic, after sending out for some clean towels the woman at the front dest was very apologetic. Would I stay again yes it's not so bad.

I booked three nights at this hotel from July 24-27th through Orbitz due to the very nice pictures on the Internet. Well, I certainly have learned that you CAN'T go by pictures in a web site!! This was the most DISGUSTING place I have ever seen, and I've stayed in some cheap places, but this is by far the worst!! 1. Our room directions got us lost 2. The halls stunk and were hot and humid 3. The dirt was still on every surface where a hand ever touched 4. Our room was smelly with and A/C that was falling off the wall 5. Bathroom still had rings around the toilet and chipped tiles 6. Patio door (to nowhere) had a broken lock, and wasn't that far off the ground to keep anybody out Worst of all, when I checked out! I never received a refund! So, I lost out on $187.74 and still had to pay for someplace else to stay. I will NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone, EVER!!! I will also be putting the worst review for this hotel on every site I can find! DISAPPOINTED AND RIPPED OFF!!

I have to edit my post below… For some reason, Yahoo wouldn't accept my initial comments or rating, just kept getting a message "There is a problem with the system, please try again later". Well, this place was TERRIBLE, I can't rate it lower than 1, except for "Cleanliness", which was ONLY 2 stars because the 0-star hotel was slightly elevated by t he half-decent room. EVERYTHING ELSE was HORRIBLE!!! You want the WHOLE story? I wish I could post it...

I wanted to stop a take a moment and personally thank you and the staff at The Bradley Hotel for making my 3 months in Windsor Locks feel like home. Doing contract work is difficult with the schedule and pressure. Coming back to my place in Room 218 always brought a feeling of rest, relief and security. You were the reason. The first day I moved in, your help getting my stuff in the room, your hospitality provide me with that initial feeling that remained for my stay there. When I return to the Hartford, CT area in the future I have no doubt where I will stay, my home away from home. The Bradley Hotel. Thank You wfrgator@aol.com

Bed in room was broken. Foot of the bed went to the floor when a friend sat on it. Hole in a wall and ceiling tile, old rag, socks and paper trash under the bed. Sliding glass door did not work. No hotel employee on site - they used a contractor who was sleeping on a lobby couch when we arrived. He was not trained to do anything but check in and check out. Manager was unreachable by him and us. Hotel had an odor. No wonder 5 cars in parking lot. Grass in courtyards and around doors knee high. Stay away!

This place has potential, but really needs work. There was no "Continental Breakfeast" as advertised. The room was not cleaned well ... hair in the sheets and not vacumed well. The management is so desperate for business that they stoop very low to make money. In talking to staff they rarely have more that 10-12 rooms booked unless there is some sort of party/function going on. There was a Friday-Sunday "Rave" going on this past weekend. Kids, Drinking, Drugs and Loud music until 5AM or so. Cops showed up Saturday night. I found out that this place was busted for having "Swingers" Sex parties, with public nudity and sex acts in the bar. It is also a prefered location for prostitutes ... just check "Craigs List" under Adult Services or the Windsor Locks Police Department, whom we had a little Chat with at 2AM Sunday Morning.(This may actually be a plus form some of you.) The Clarion is about a mile away for roughly the same price and is a far better option.
