Room 319 was awesome

Ocean view room with ocean front feel. could not get a better deal for what I got. Right on the beach, never have to drive anywhere, sunset view from the room, fireplace...my fingers are getting tired. If you are going anywhere close to this area, stay here.

Can't get any closer to the beach!

The Beach House is right on the Strand & beach, a perfect location for exercise by walking up & down the Strand, which is what we did for 2 days! We relaxed at the beach, just steps away from you and did a little swimming in the ocean. The hotel staff was very friendly, polite and efficient. There were only two things that kept this place from being the 'perfect' get away. 1. The continental breakfast is 'very basic' compared to other hotels we've stayed at and paid less for each night. It could be expanded on with at least a choice of something warm like oatmeal. 2. The room is nice, but there is a noise that's constant and never stops day or night. It seems to come out of a vent in the ceiling near the bathroom/pathway close to the bed. We were figuring it may be intake vent for the air conditioner or heater? We asked the desk and someone came in to listen and agreed there was a noise, but maybe it was just someone upstairs taking a shower. The noise actually did sound like that, but it never stopped. My husband had to use ear plugs to sleep at night.

Big Bang for the Buck!

The staff at the Beach House at Hermosa was desperate to please it's guests...and they did! What a lovely room and location. It is located right on the beach with beach volleyball right outside the door. The Breakfast, which was included has a lot to choose from. We stayed two nights and ate at two suggested restaurants - both were great. Can't wait to stay there again!

Oceanview Room Does Not Have An Ocean View

In August 2005, I reserved an Oceanview Room at the Beach House for September 2 to 5, 2005. The reservation operator described the room, including its size and views of the ocean and the pier. The Beach House website picture of the Oceanview Room shows a romantic couple on their balcony overlooking an unobstructed panoramic view of the ocean. Upon arriving in Room 303 of the Beach House, I thought that there was a mistake since the windows of the room faced the adjacent business roofs and the hotel garage. I spoke with the Front Office Manager who reassured me that Room 303 was one of the best Oceanview Rooms. I refused the room since the Beach House website and their reservation operator misrepresented their accommodations. The Front Office Manager advised me on September 2, 2005 that I would be charged for one night since the Beach House has a 72-hour cancellation policy. I understand that these policies are designed to defray costs of guests who fail to appear. I was never informed of a cancellation policy and should not be charged for being dissatisfied with their deception. In fact, I did not cancel the reservation; I refused a room that was not as advertised.
