Do not stay here!!! Long story but worth reading.

We checked in on 02/09/10 late at night and had to wait in the cold 10 mins before Trina got to the door. We requested a downstairs room when the reservation was made in 12/09 as my daughter was having surgery and could not get up or down stairs. Well, no rooms downstairs except suites. We had no choice but to take the suite. We get the keys to the room and they did not open the doors. Back to the front desk we went and had to wait yet again in the cold at almost midnight to get keys. We were assigned another room. There was a rodeo in Houston that day and there was no parking near the room we were asssigned, so we parked directly in front of the hotel inside of wroth iron gates. My daugther forgot her DVD player in the car so around 12:50 am her and I went out to get it. We saw the security guard for the premesis looking at us standing less than 100 feet away, at which time I remember thinking, good our vehicle is going to be safe. We set the alarm on the car and went to sleep. When my husband awoke at 8:30 am to get breakfast, he came in the room and said honey someone broke in our Mercedes. The rear passenger window molding was pried open with a screwdriver and the broke the entire glass out. I immediately called the front desk and Myra informed me not to worry she would file an incident report with the hotel's insurance company and to call 911 to report what happened. Detective Coleman from Houston PD came out to take the report. We then went for surgery and after a night stay at Texas Children's, I went to check out of the hotel on 0211. Myra was extremely rude when asked to explain why I was charged an extra 30.00, then an extra 94.99 to my bill. I was told it was because I chose to upgrade my room to a suite (what a joke-my vehicle would have been better ). I proceeded to ask for a copy of the incident report and she tried every excuse under the moon not to give it to me, but I insisted on a copy of the report. She gave it to me and told me an adjuster would be calling me. Upon leaving I swore to my family we would never stay there again!! It gets better, I got a call from an adjuster today 02/12/2010 from Zurich Insurance asking me to explain the incident. I did as stated above and gave her the Houston PD item # for the police report filed. She rudely stated to me that they were not going to pay for the damage to my vehicle nor the items stolen out of it as the only way they would pay is for negligence on the part of the hotel. She said she had just talked to the hotel before contacting me and they stated there was no negligence on their part. What a joke! They have wroth iron gates that they do not have to lock and a security guard on the premesis who "if awake" had to hear my alarm go off. Personally, I would not advise anyone stay here as it is unsafe, has rude employees and certainly a grade F insurance company. Truly is an unethical, trashy and certainly unsafe establishment in my opinion. Beware!
